The recent report I heard on NBC concerning the Country of Cypress and the fact the the government was considering or was going to take/ confiscate as much as 10% of each individuals bank account to assist with the small nations dept. Yes there were varying percetage rates for a suggested deduction based on amounts in savings but none the less...........a country as small as it is considering taking/ stealing from the citizens to cover the politicians wasted spending. Will it be enough??? H*ll NO. This is just the tip of the ice burg. Cypress didn't do this on their own, this is a trial period to see how citizens react, the reaction as I read was as expected and will be the same in the USA if not worse. Do the banks have enough cash on hand for us to withdraw our deposits in cash??? No they don't. The fight will be on then!!!!!!! Hense the revolution fella's, lock and load.

The country is Cyprus and yes they did a bank holiday on them. We lived there from 1958 to 1960 and I can't see either the Turks or the Greeks there taking this lying down.

Please get or report the full details. That tax only applies on the profit above a certain (high) level. Most of us here would not be affected.

That's how this stuff get past, right it won't effect the low and middle class, yea right, keep drinking that kool-aid. Let's not leave out the bank transaction tax that goes with Obama care. One percent tax on bank transactions. Bank deposits, withdrawals, bank cards, loans......

Bank holidays are when the gov't closes a bank or banks due to a run on the bank(s). The gov't did it on Cyprus by blocking the use of ATMs so that people couldn't withdraw money to get down to the 6.9% level from the 9.9% level and from the 6.9% level to 0%. Bank holidays are nothing to celebrate and have been known to cause riots. The US had a 4 day one back in 1933. And we've had some small ones in the last decade.

Surviving takes planning.

Just the mention of this kind of action should give every American a moment of pause.
Where is your money?
Can I get at my money when "I" want it?
Can I survive without access for a short time?
Can I survive without access for an extended period?
What would I do if access was cut off and I needed to feed and care for my family?
If these questions spawn anwsers that trouble you. Then you need to rethink your situation and make different plans.
This will happen here, if/when the economy goes crappers, if/when social extremest push society to the brink.
NO TIN HAT just a strong belief in governents desire to destroy the American way of life as we know it today.

For most gov't officials, it's not so much that they want to destroy the American dream... it's that they were so obsessed with money and blinded by their own greed to see or care about the impact it all would later have on the our country, and the world. It is only a select few who make it to such high levels of gov't that actually wish an end to our prosperity and way of life. I'm sure we here could name names... but we need not to b/c it's public knowledge here. We are going to pay for our own and others mistakes concerning the foolhardy practices of financial ponzi schemes, fraud and out-right lies. This collapse of the financial institutions that control the world is coming, it's going to be finite itself, but it will be here long enough and spread wide enough to drastically change the way the next generation looks at the financial world. With our mistakes, we may have just bought our grandchildren a ticket to economic bliss... bought with our suffering.

If that's what we're putting on the table... I'll take it. Better me fight this upcoming battle than them!
