Got Surplus Gear?

Are any of you using Military or Military Surplus gear?
I know for a while after I was discharged I didn't want to look at anything Green not to mention OD Green (It was our fashion wear when I was in). Girl friends walked off with shirts, jackets, all kinds of things I had left over from my 4 glorious years of service. I could have cared less... Now however, I buy little pieces of gear because I know much of it is great value and in many cases over built. (not all, not all, I know there is crap out there).
LBV's with web belts, Alice packs are a really good value when all padding is present. Mag pouches have changed very little since WWI for .45 mags.

Anyone geared up? Any thing you can recommend? remember, I'm old school. If its not darn near 40 years old I didn't use it.

I have never been in the military, But I do agree that military surplus is the way to go if your putting together a bug out bag or shtf gear. I like the military surplus stuff because its built to last just about for ever. I find the stuff I buy on ebay and by searching on line, and you can find some really good deals on this stuff if you spend a little time searching.

Got a duffel bag from the Korean war---was my father's and is still in decent enough shape to use. Also have his USMC Ka-bar, a canteen, and a few other knick-knacks that have held up over the years.
