GOP bill would block funding to schools that ban imaginary guns

It's time someone has come to their senses!
A Republican lawmaker has introduced legislation that would block funding to schools that prohibit children from playing with imaginary guns.
Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, says the Student Protection Act aims to stop the enforcement of policies that "punish innocent children" by cutting funds to schools that abuse "zero tolerance" weapons policies.
"Something must be done to restore sanity to the schoolroom," Stockman said Tuesday in a statement. "The Student Protection Act would end the practice of using federal taxpayer dollars to subsidize schools that enforce these policies that abuse and harm young children."
They talk about common sense but they never show any. Do y'all think this is long over due? .

Now if we can only get them to block funding until they allow lawful carry in schools.

The school's job no longer appears to be education but only indoctrination. This borders on criminal malpractice for educators. It isn't only about indoctrinating children to hate firearms. They are taught to hate the U.S., our Constitution, our form of government, our cultural identity, religion, morality, and even their parents.

All federal aid to education should be cut and the Department of Education eliminated. The founders wanted local control off education with no government involvement above the state level. Only a few decades ago this country provided a first rate education. We are now at the very bottom of industrial nations in the education of children. The unions, progressives, and political pimps are destroying this republic by destroying our children's lives and future. I can't even imagine a greater evil than the destruction of a culture through the destruction of that culture's children. This was done by Hitler and Stalin not the U.S.

House Resolution 2625 is just someone's idea of drawing attention to a zero tolerance policy that has been overused and overabused and doesn't stand a snow balls chance in hell of getting anywhere on Capitol Hill.

First off it doesn't go far enough in defining what should be considered a violation under the resolution and whether or not there are or will be degrees of violations considered or they going to make this a "zero tolerance resolution".

This is the guts of the proposed resolution a 3-page document, granted this could all be controlled by the exercise of general common sense without legislation but common sense is missing in our current society, that which is generated by the imagination of innocent playful children should not need legislation to dictate what or who is wrong.

SEC. 3. DECLARATION OF POLICY.
(a) No funds appropriated pursuant to any provisions of law may be used for any educational institution which punishes a student as a result of any of the following actions by the student:
(1) brandishing a pastry or other food which is partially consumed in such a way that the remnant resembles a gun;
(2) possession of a toy gun which is two inches or less; :lol:
(3) possession of a toy gun made of plastic snap together building blocks;
(4) using a finger or hand to simulate a gun;
(5) vocalizing imaginary firearms or munitions;
(6) wearing a T-shirt that supports Second Amendment rights; :nono:
(7) drawing a picture of, or possessing an image of, a firearm; or
(8) using a pencil, pen or other writing utensil to simulate a firearm.
(b) EFFECTIVEDATE.—The provisions of this Act shall take effect on the date of enactment of the Act
