Over this past weekend, 49 people were shot in Chicago, including 10 deaths, one of which was a 6 year old girl.

Read for yourself and spread the news about the effectiveness of gun control.

What's the solution? Ban guns again? Ban shooting people again? Can't ban something that is already banned.
 
My wife of 22 years grew up in Chicago. Some of the stories she has shared with me are surprising, to say the least. When she moved up to northern Wisconsin, she couldn't believe how peaceful the area was compared to what she had grown up with.
 
If you think about it when stuff is made illegal people want it more, i.e. drugs,guns(in some places). During the alcohol prohibition there were more speak easy that opened so people could drink illegally. History says that during that time there were more speak easy that opened then there were bars that were opened before and after the prohibition.

The people of Chicago don't want to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights to keep and bear arms?
Then let the people of Chicago Reap what they have Sown.
To hell wih places like; Chicago, New York City & Los Angeles.
Let them wallow in their own filth as far as I'm concerned.
It's too bad that the children have to suffer though. :(

The problem isn't really Chicago's fault, it is the result of the People of Illinois as a whole not wanting to allow guns. Look at the Maps here on USA Carry and you will find that Illinois is the only one of the 50 United States that will not allow its residents to carry, openly or concealed. I have heard that this is in part why the Citizens of Chicago wish to declare themselves as an independent State and secede from Illinois.
 
Actually it's the other way around. Representation goes by population, so most of the political power is centered in Chicago. It's the rest of Illinois that is more pro-gun and wants to secede.
 
When you ban guns, only criminals own guns after that.

Johnny-gang-banger doesn't care if he doesn't have a permit. Johnny-I-work-a-job does care because he has to follow the law.

Same problem we have in NYS. NY City comprises about 40% of the total state population. The vote is hijacked.
 
When you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have them.
The problem with Illinois is it is totally controlled by the Chicago(Cook County) Democrats(and Mike Madigan) get away from Chicago and most of us have guns and enjoy shooting.

My take is that these are primarily "inner-city" people. The areas that have the highest crime are areas that have generally been represented by Democrat.. aka. Liberals..aka. Socialists for the last 30-40 years.
They have been brainwashed with the Democrat ideology that basically says "vote for me and I will set you free"! The gov't will give you all that you need. Heck I think the illiteracy rate in Detroit is something like 80%. Don't know what it is for Chicago but they like "community organizers" there.
These people have been promised, lied to, brainwashed just so some charlatan politicians can keep their job.
You think those liars want the people to have guns and be able to defend themselves. Next thing you know they (the people) will start thinking for themselves and start asking questions of their political elected officials. What? Thinking voters! They might start acting like conservatives and give up on social justice and the socialist entitlements that kill incentive and cripple their children...... well that part is a nice fantasy, having them think for themselves.

I may have the "whom" that wants to secede backward, I just read somewhere that folks wanted Chicago to be their own State.
Living in Washington State where 1/3 of the States population lives in Seattle, I can easily understand the political power being centered in a large city. However, I will stand behind my basic statement that: It is the People of Illinois who have given up their rights, as the Politicians work for the people and if the People are insisting that the Government do more and more to protect them, then the Politicians will do what they feel will satisfy their constituents.
Even if that means passing legislation that infringes, abridges, disparages or denies them their individual rights and if the people allow it, then in the long run, they have only themselves to blame. I know there are individual voices of reason out there that are screaming at the top of their lungs but the voices of the many are drowning them out.

I will not disagree with you! Look at how the General Social attitude in the 1930's & 1940's was How can we help our Government and now it is How can our Government help us?

I would, but not in the way you might think. It's not a case of the voices of the many drowning out the voices of reason voices of reason to willingly and knowingly surrender their rights. They are indeed giving up their rights, and they are drowning out the voices of reason to collude with those in power that are usurping those rights. But most of them are mere lemmings following blindly because they think they're doing the right think, not knowing and willing co-conspirators who are aware that they are abrogating their own rights. One need only look at the drivel that comes out of our mainstream media to see how such a thing could be possible.
