As far as I'm concerned the 1st. Amendment is as important as the 2nd Amendment.

Posts like "America is a Christian Nation" have been eliminated, and this group no longer supports Free speech.

To my friends, I wish you all the best.

Please note that on any forum (a private entity), you do not have the right to be to post whatever you wish, in fact you don't have the right to even be a member. We are all "allowed" to participate in any online forum by the owners, and if they deem what participates does not comply with their rules, then you may leave, or they may boot you out.

You can say what you want standing on the public street in front of my house, that is a 1A right, but when you enter my private property, then I set the rules.

You may not like it Debray, but it is no way has violated your constitutional rights. Just like any business you disagree with, vote with your feet.... bye bye

It looks to me like you can agree with religion but can't discuss religion at TFF.
If you visit TFF you'll find that they definitely do discuss religion. However, it seems most likely that they won't tolerate BLASPHEMY, which keeps the likes of you out. :victory:

You misspelled truth, it does not start with a "B"

Howdy,

The 1st Amendment protects Your Freedom of Speech from the Fed. Gov't but not from a kooky gun forum.

I'm a member of a couple of Veterans' forums and one deals with VA claims for compensation. This forum is owned, ran and moderated by current and retire VA Regional Office (VARO .....that's where all claims are handled.) and its against forum rules to say anything negative toward the VA, especially the VARO and it's employees.

This makes it very difficult to discuss your claim and issues that you are having. It also makes it difficult to answer questions that other Vets have asked about their claim.

On numerous occasions I've read a post that someone has made, then a couple of days later I'll reread the thread an notice that a post or two has been deleted. I myself have had post deleted and received a PM from a mod stating that eventhough my post was helpful it was delete because it violated forum rules because it made the VA look incompetent.

Yesterday, on three different threads I stated to post something then said to myself " Nope, the mods will delete it." and closed out the thread.

Such is life.

I have been waiting two Months for the V.A. to get someone to look at my finger, got a steel splinter in it I just could not get it all removed. Took many calls just to get the nurse at V.A. to look at it i did not know part of the splinter was still in my finger, Doctor was to busy to take a quick look I wanted some antibiotic as it was getting infected. Nurse said Doctor had to see it first.gave me one bandage a packet of antibiotic salve told me to let her know Monday if it was still hurting me as it was Friday around 5pm. Monday I tried reaching her Tuesday tried again the service guy answering the phone told me Doctor put an antibiotic in the mail got it the next day, used it 10 days it did nothing. I had to wait two more weeks for my yearly Doctor check up Doctor had my finger X-Rayed and yes some parts of splinter still in finger, told me a Surgeon at V.A. must see my finger before they would do anything. On June 4th I will see this Surgeon who knows what he will say but even if he says there is a need to remove it,who knows when I can really expect to get it removed. The V.A. is just to big and to slow in taking care of us veterans.

I am eligible for care at the VA.

I will not go to the VA under any circumstances. I had medical insurance through work, or the wife's until I became eligible for Medicare.

TFF has had atheists and other folks come and discuss religion. Discussions happen all the time. We just don't put up with juvenile delinquent a-holes and dumb^$$ comments over there. You're welcome over there. But, childish comments & disrespect for others is not tolerated there like it has been here.

I would warn forum members that the "TFF" Thefirearmforum.com is a very heavy over moderating site, you post something they don't like and you'r quickly attacked by their premium members. And soon the moderator will with no notice ban you.
IMHO it's not much of a firearm forum, so getting banned is no big deal.

Hmmm.....sounds like thefiringline and the[not so]highroad. A few members here will recognize those.

I joined this site the same week it opened, maybe the same day, don't remember for sure. It opened with at least a couple of added moderators to Luke, maybe more, but it didn't take long for warnings to start getting issued for pretty ticky-tacky stuff. I stopped coming here because of it. Maybe three or four years passed and I started checking in again. Seemed a bit more wide open, so I started posting again in like 2011 or 2012. I am fairly well-disciplined enough to not cuss or call other posters names etc., so that wasn't the reason I didn't (and still don't) like the heavy moderation. I just like to be able to say what's on my mind without having to self-censor certain topics, or mild sarcasm, or direct and critical discourse. I thought it worked fairly well around here, but I was overruled in that thinking. C'est la' vie for me, I never get so invested in a forum that I couldn't do without it to the extent that I'd self-censor things that I believe need to be said. So I'm here until either I make the decision that that extent has been reached, or the decision is made for me. If it comes to that, I'll be like
_shrug__or__dunno__by_crula.gif
either way.

I've been a member at both of the above-mentioned sites for longer than this one's been open, and I don't think I've got 100 posts between them, mostly because of the heavy moderation, but also because there's a very apparent undercurrent that certain thoughts are not allowed. Stifled discourse is just not enjoyable to me. I don't frequent places where I can't be comfortable saying what I think, within the established rules of course. Doesn't seem to be the case at those two (and many other popular) forums. I hope this one doesn't go much further in that direction, but it has definitely taken a turn back towards something that was previously tried and presumably didn't work, or else one would think, the moderation wouldn't have been loosened up. Could've been something completely unrelated though because I wasn't hanging around to watch how it loosened up, but I know for sure that it did, and also know I likely wouldn't have started participating again if it hadn't.

Both the fireingline and the highroad have giving me warnings along with Sigtalk and HKPro. HKPro has this bird strightgrain who is the owner of the forum who is a really over moderating jerk. You question one of their fair haired premium aka "paying members" and you quickly get a warning. I just will not post or reply anymore and will PM someone if I feel I want to say something. Even if I get banned they can't stop me from reading their forums threads,i just use another browser.

Almost forgot another heavy moderating thread locking forum. The 1911 forum.

Items that really make me mad are when a good thread is locked, because the moderator feels it's been run to long. and when they just move your post off to some non read place. This happens a lot in many forums.

Two good forums are the firearmstalk and the handgunforum, problem is they don't have many posting members. Another good forum if your into Walther handguns is the walthersforum.

No not really- TFF is a forum with a high percentage of mature adult Christians. The only people who don't last long are the ones that are immature and can't abide by the rules of a family friendly & respectful forum. (in other words TROLLS soon leave when they show their true colors.)

As long as you don't get too colorful with the language or make fun of those who have religious beliefs, you have no worries about being banned. Healthy debate is just fine and encouraged. You will get hammered if you spout too much leftist BS; or, if you come out against vets in a demeaning way. But, that won't even get you banned if you remain respectful.

As to it not being a good firearms forum, you don't know what you're talking about! There is a HUGE wealth of knowledge on almost everything firearms there.

Well I was reading their forum and when this guy russianbear posted about weapon shield grease he got quickly jumped by the threads gang of what ever you think they are. And he was branded a spammer and banned. Just read it yourself Weapon Shield firearm grease. | The Firearms Forum
If this is what being "mature adult Christians" are then I don't want any part of that forum.

Was "russianbear" totally innocent in how that went down? He got rather mouthy right off the bat with a lubricants engineer (not a mod) and then with an Admin who said that the lube he preferred was created by a friend of his who was also a member. Why get mouthy with an Admin over a simple difference of opinion about freakin' lubricants fer cryin' out loud? And why show up on Memorial Day flyin' a Russian hammer & sickle flag, and then pick a fight over such minutia as lubes?

Looked like he either was a spammer to me, or he joined (on Friday 5/22) just to prove a point about how easy it is to get banned there. Spamming and/or baiting the mods/Admins into banning you will get you banned every time.

Got any better examples of people being unfairly banned over there?

Since I don't know this guy I have no real idea about it. All I know is what I read and IMHO he got jumped on for little or nothing you blue have your thoughts on this matter I have mine.
If the Russian flag offended some forum members that's their problem. Myself I am not a member of that forum so what they do there is none of my concern.
