Good and Evil are both always around us

Good and Evil is and will always be around us this earth. It seems we only talk about good when something evil happens. Last night I was reading the December 2012 edition of Readers Digest. They did a story on good, "The Year of Miracles". It's just quick little stories about regular people doing good for someone else.

It was refreshing to see what good we still have around us. Regardless of each of our religious beliefs, we all believe in good and should promote the good around us.

I would like to challenge not only my family and friends, but the news outlets to post something they come across that promotes and/or showcases the good around us. It would be great it we all could do it daily, but at least weekly, post about something good you have come across. It can be something you witnessed, read/heard about or even something you did.

Evil only wins when we let it....Good wins only if we let it. I for one vote for GOOD.

It would be good to hear about nice things happening to people. There are good people everywhere in this world but something good does not make headlines. It is only the evil things being done that are put before us each and everyday. Not only do we see it when it occurs but we have it televised for weeks after the incident(s). News people should learn to have a little compassion for the families after tragedies and quit fueling the flames. Let them have a little peace. Let someone do a good deed for someone else and it rarely, or never, gets noticed. Keep televising evil and cause others who are impressionable try to emulate such conduct. All we are doing is glorifying evil in our daily lives, in movies, and TV which can only cause more aberrant behavior from an already degraded society. Unfortunately, we seem to be too far gone to expect any real changes in this world!

As would happen, after I wrote the above post, I came across this item which is what the OP was talking about. Not only did the cop show that he had a heart, he was an example of all the good, hard working LEOs out there!

Texas Cop Writes Struggling Father a Traffic Ticket — With a $100 Bill Wrapped Inside
Posted on December 14, 2012 at 3:35pm by Madeleine Morgenstern

It’s the last thing a Texas man expected when a Plano police officer pulled him over for an expired registration.

Hayden Carlo, a 25-year-old married father of two, told the officer he didn’t have any explanation for not getting it renewed except that he didn’t have the money.

“You get paid, pay your bills, and there’s your money. It’s gone,” Carlo told KTVT-TV. “I said, ‘it was either feed my kids or get my registration done.”

The officer wrote a citation and handed it to Carlo, who couldn’t believe what he saw inside.

“Opened it up and there’s a $100 bill. I broke down in my car, what else could I do,” Carlo said.

The officer, who wants to remain anonymous, didn’t tell anyone what he did, but Carlo’s grandfather wrote the police department a letter to thank them.

“You just don’t find that many officers who do this type of thing,” Billy McIntire told KTVT.
