Had a good thanksgiving dinner in Golden Corral, Franklin Blvd, Gastonia NC. Carried concealed, NO SIGN ON DOOR, No sign posted anywhere. Went back for Breakfast on January 1st with Family and friends. A Large sign posted on the door of NO FIREARMS OF ANY TYPE on the door. Needless to say, Ryan's received my meal patronage. I have contacted Golden Corral management of this denial of second amendment rights in their resturant. I have informed them that I will take my meals at Ryan's now unless their policy is changed.

Just for curosity's sake, I asked the local Ryan's manager about concealed carry in his restaurant in south Alabama. He, first of all, didn't know that Alabama was an open carry state so I had caught him off guard. He said as long as the weapon was concealed, he wouldn't say anything. If, I had been open carrying, he would have asked me to leave because it might have been disturbing to the other customers. He also didn't know about the requirement to post signs stating their policy against weapons. I still carry concealed and, if the day comes, that weapons are completely banned there, I will go elsewhere to spend my money. They need me more than I need them!:dance3:

I've open carried in two different Golden Corral locations here in Kentucky, no problems...but...well it's Kentucky lol.

yep, that is why i went to ryans down the street... they seem to be ok with someone being able to defend themselves and others waiting on a 12 minute police response time.

Been to several Golden Corral restaurants in UT. No problems there from the employees. I did get some nasty remarks from a couple of customers on one occasion, but never asked to leave because of OC or for any other reason.

It might be a "local" or "franchisee" policy, and not the "corporate" policy.

Golden Corral of Franklin Blvd Gastonia NC has taken down the firearm prohibition signs from their doors. I have received an email confirming this from a higher up in the franchise. Thank you each and every one for your support in this matter...

Isn't it amazing how "voting with your pocketbook" can change things?

We have a gun store here in southern Nevada that has a sign on the door prohibiting CC inside the store! How stupid can you get? When I first moved here, I went searching for a good gun store in my area. Upon seeing that sign, I checked them off my list without even entering the establishment.

Glad you got the sign removed.

We have one here that states "no loaded firearm in store unless legally concealed"

It was everyone on the lists that also sent e mails and calls. I just posted what golden corral had done. Also, I need to thank the higher ups at Golden corral for amending their mistake...

While I would prefer they allow carry of any kind, at least they allow concealed carry. They are within their rights to deny either so.....

Very strange indeed to hear this...

I've never had a problem with the Corral's here in Georgia...

as a matter of fact, for the last few months we have been having OC dinners which we combined with the local Tea Party meetings. Our turnout (for both) seems to increase every month. Never a word or look from the Corral folks, and only to usual 1-2 "are you a police officer ?" queries from anyone else...

Fun the watch folks eyebrows make a bee-line for their scalp when you tell them "why no... I am just an armed citizen". :pleasantry:

aye, I must compliment "golden corral" on their swift action about this complaint. Within two days of the complaint, the sign had been removed. I even had a call from the regional manager explaining that the problem had been taken care of and apoligized for the sign going up in the first place.
Family and I have been to the corral several times since then.

Sorry guys/Gals, went to Golden Corral here in Sanford, NC. No problems with me carrying, BIG problem with the quality of the food. Don't know if my insides will ever be the same. First time eating at one of these and the last. Tough dried out meat. NO seasoning on anything. There also seem to be a OLD FOOD odor about the place. I'm ex-Navy and they didn't even serve this kind of crap on the Mess Decks. Someone, please pass the Bromo...............:hang3:

So you can take your glock inside wearing it openly so long as you drop the magazine first?

What a useless rule.

In the state of UT you can have a loaded magazine inserted as long as there's on round in the chamber. As for revolvers, there cannot be a live round in line with the barrel or the next chamber to line up with the barrel. Commonly referred to as "Utah Unloaded".

And some loaded politician came up with this "Utah Unloaded" Rule??? Mind boggling, just mind boggling. The biggest part of this asinine rule is that the People of Utah allowed this to pass.

Ask the manager if they buy their product from U.S. Foodservice. U.S. Foodservice's primary customers are prisons and low-end motels. A real restaurant will not use them.

Maybe you're on to something. The proprietor was a cook in prison at some time. Must be the case cause it was a crime to serve such *&%$* !! Now I know why you PAY PIRIOR to eating.

I used to live in GA and i had a few friends that carried both openly and Concealed. Needless to say, there were several people that had to remove their eyebrows from their rearends they shot back so far when they saw my friends .45 Long Colt on his hip. I've been paying more attention to peoples actions and clothing when im down there with my Fiance on weekends, i never noticed how many people carry concealed until here recently. ( The only reason i know they're carrying is because of the print and depending on what kind of mood i'm in will usually stop and chat with them, discreetly of course )

If a sign is posted than that should include law enforcement as well. I am just as proficent if not more than most cops walking around with a fire arm.
I hate those signs.
