Going from Michigan to Ohio, Questions

Wednesday, Oct 22 Im going to be taking my 1 yo son and my wife to the Toledo zoo. I am not familiar with Ohio CC laws, I know Michigan CPL is recognized there, however, some of their concealed carry FAQ was a little hazy to me. I was wondering if anyone could summarize the laws for me. Do I have to disclose to a LEO if I am pulled over? Does anyone know if the Toledo zoo allows CC in their area? Are there any Magazine restrictions? I only ask because if its more hassle than its worth, I will not carry, however, Ohio has some rough areas and would hate to be caught with my pants down.

Thanks in advance.

1. Ohio is a must notify state.

2. According to this thread from 2009, the zoo is posted no carry. If the parking lot is posted, it is not a criminal violation if you park there, it is only a civil infraction. If the zoo grounds themselves are posted, then ignoring that sign would be a criminal misdemeanor.

3. Any magazine holding 30 rounds or less is legit.

4. Ohio has state preemption so any local ordinances Toledo may still have on the books regarding firearms are null and void.

I would also add, do not carry into any restaurant that serves alcohol. That too is not allowed in OH. I have to echo that is also a must notify state if you are pulled over or detained in any other way. I live in PA near the OH border and go back and forth quite often. OH, for the most part is, an easy state to carry in, but I would suggest going through one of these sites that breaks their law down for you before you venture in, so you don't have any "surprises".

This link should help for more specific answers you may have:

Enjoy your trip to the zoo with your wife and son. It sounds like a fun day!

Looks like if I conceal carry inside the zoo it would be no different than carrying inside a walmart [as far as ownership] doesnt seem to be a federal facility. Think Ill just wear a coat that day and carry anyway lol. Ill be sure not to CC into any place that serves alcohol. I dont really venture out of state a whole lot so wanted to be extra careful.
Thank you guys for the information. Sites i looked at last night were vague at best with laws. Can always rely on usacarry for the best answers lol.

Not true (any longer). It became legal for those with a recognized carry license to carry in restaurants that serve alcohol about two years ago. However, such carry is only legal as long as one does not consume any alcohol.

I stand corrected. I've been carrying in OH for so long now, I hadn't realized this had changed. Should give my wife and I more places to go eat.

I never drink while I'm out, but there are many restaurants that serve that we've avoided due to carrying.
