GOD Is Busy

If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!!

A United States Navy Seal was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan . One of the
courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, GOD if you are real then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 min.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am
GOD, I'm still waiting.'

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Seal got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him, knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Seal went back to his seat and sat there, silently.

The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there looking on in silence.. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Seal and asked, 'What in the world is the matter with you? 'Why did you do that?'

The Seal calmly replied, 'GOD was too busy today protecting America 's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me.'

The classroom erupted in cheers!

Good for him

Well, I can see you've got your audience figured out. Assaulting someone because one isn't pleased with what they say fits this group well!

The professor is there to teach a subject. He is NOT there to advance his views or opinions on his disbelief in GOD. He needed his ass kicked, and got what he needed. He was WAY out of line, just like the Liberal comedian idiots that take the opportunity to use the microphone for political speech instead of doing a comedy stand-up routine. It's an affront to the paying customers, especially when the comedians don't know their butt from Shinola about politics.

That's all irrelevant. Anybody with good sense knows that College teachers of all types need to be held to a higher standard than has been used for many years. A complaint to the Regents, or to the Department Chair, even a civil suit to recover costs because the curriculum is not being covered (yes such suits have been filed and won ... but not often).

What is not appropriate is to physically assault someone because you disagree with them.

But, you obviously know best how to create a peaceful and respectful society... I'm sure Jesus told you to 'kick his ass' with love and cheek turned.

+1.

I refer you to your own signature quote:

"We tell them what to do, what to think . . . and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome."

But I guess, in your view, that position is dependent on what you're meddling with. If you're meddling with someone's Christian beliefs, that's OK with you?

This is funny...
But if we claim this as our standing we have done nothing to further what one claims as faith. Any faith that would support this action has NO TRUE FAITH.
Als, who knows GOD, how was death?
Just my two cents.

You have no more right to impose your Christian view on others than they have to restrict you from your view. That works the other way around as well. And yes, I consider being meddlesome a problem. Meddlesome to the point of a physical attack because you dislike what someone is saying is criminal. There are often ways to deal with problems short of attacks. Unfortunately, there seems to be quite a community of posters here who feel that only their own views are above question; the funny thing is that they often don't share the same opinions.

But NDS to some extent is that not a malady that we all are inflicted with?

It certainly is, and we should try to discuss honestly keeping that in mind; but that's not the problem. The problem is that there's often no room for discussion here. Check the posts above where somebody bemoans the surplus of 'god-haters' here. I criticized the joke on social grounds, not religious ones. It was one of the overtly religious who brought the subject up, not me. All too often threads here are hijacked so a 'virtual prayer meeting' can begin.

If this one runs true to form soon many people will be posting Bible verses, threats, calling names, and promising to pray for people. None of those have to do with the joke or my criticism of it.

I still say that physically attacking someone because you don't like their opinion is wrong.

Some people just deserve a good ass-whippping.

Some people think, I guess, that the Christian should take anything dished out to or against them, and then just meekly hang their heads, turn the other cheek, and take the next shot (verbal or otherwise). Uh, no, not exactly. I know ordained preachers who will knock you on your ass in righteous anger. And I got no problem with it. We're Christian MEN.

NDS, I saw no one here say that no one else could opine differently than them. All I see are strong opinions from people I tend to consider as warriors, yourself included. The religious subject matter of the joke was the essence of the event and so naturally would elicit associated responses. I don't see the problem.

If someone wants to post a Bible verse, so what? Read it, don't read it; who cares? I have never seen anyone threaten anyone on this site, so you'll have to show me where that occurred. Calling names? Big deal. And...OMG...someone promises to pray for you! The horror!

Lighten up, NDS. I listen to and read plenty of attacks on my Christian faith. You can deal with a Bible verse or two now and then.

Christians, men and women alike are called to stand, not shrink away, not surrender, not roll over and play dead but to STAND and FIGHT if necessary. We are not called to be anyone's floor mat or foot stool. It is time we stood our ground and took our CHRISTIAN nation back from those who are trying to destroy it. I am an ordained minister, have been for over 30 years now and I will stand with any of you who are willing to defend our faith in the one true God.
