I was wondering if its worth the price of admission. Anyone installed one of these? What were your results? Any input is appreciated.

I personally do not see the benefit.
I would rather the guide rod wear, than the slide. Stainless will wear less than the original...
The guide rod is easy to replace.

My 2 cents worth...

Thanks NCIC, I was thinking along the same line. Seems everything I read talks about less muzzle flip because of the weight difference. I just cant see that little bit of weight making much difference.

I put a Tungsten 19lb rod in my 36. I chose it not for wear but because it is heavier both in weight and resistance so it handles +p loads better. Much Better may I add. The stiffness makes it less snappy and the weight decreases muzzle jump nicely.

Thanks Big John for the input. Taking in as much info as I can before deciding whether to purchase one or not.

My previous two Glocks (26 and a 21) had zero problems with the stock recoil rod over probably 20,000 rounds each gun. My current Walther is the same with approximately 8,000 rounds. These recoil rods are designed to work for a long time - if Gaston or Karl didn't trust them they woulda put in steel. I have seen videos of the plastic recoil rods flexing mightily during firing - the point was that the flexing is part of what makes the gun run. YMMV!!!
