Glock EDC

I need a EDC. I'm leaning towards a G21. Do those of y'all who carry a Glock keep a round in hie chamber or not?

Don't carry a Glock! But whenever I carry (which is always) it's always locked, cocked and ready to rock! I prefer an open hammer, like my Sig, just for that reason. However, as I understand it, Glocks are just as safe to EDC....It's just my preference.

I don't carry a glock either but a gun w/o a round in the pipe is as useful as a rock in a situation you'd need to draw...research it man, tons of info about not having time to rack the slide during an attack

I'm a glock guy - 19,23,26 (except when I'm carrying my bersa thunder). I ALWAYS carry it with one in the pipe. Otherwise, as some have said, "it's just a small club". Glocks can be dropped, kicked, run over by a truck, thrown at a wall (yes, I actually saw a nutcase do this to make his point) and they don't go bang unless you hook the trigger. If you have good trigger finger discipline you are good to go. If you grab the trigger while drawing nobody is safe. It's you and your finger that determine safety. The glock is safe.

I carry a G22. Any gun I carry has a round in the pipe.

The trigger is protected in the holster and my finger is off the trigger until sights are lined up on target and ready to fire. My finger is my safety, and my firearm ALWAYS has a round chambered when I'm carrying.

You're careful with matches, full cups of scalding hot coffee, and flammable items near an open fire... Trigger discipline is no different.

I either carry the G23 or the G22... it is always at the ready. They are designed to be chambered and carried.

You never want to put yourself in a position where if you have to draw and fire that you would have to pause to rack first, because you will be dead instead.

If you are uncomfortable with the idea of having a round chambered... then holster it only while at home until you start realizing that a firearm that is not fiddled with cannot possible go off. Also, practice drawing your firearm from the holster (unloaded) until you do it without thought or looking and your trigger finger is at register (not on the trigger guard). Once you get comfortable knowing you aren't going to fiddle with the trigger drawing it and that a loaded weapon not fiddled with won't go off, you will get over the idea of a loaded firearm on your person as being dangerous... it is not.

i edc glk 21; consider the 30s instead - even 6'4" 300# (like me) it is be sorta hard to conceal that long handle owb & iwb is not comfy enough for edc 8hr days (for me). i am waiting for my 30s to come in. as a salesman type i have to remove it 1-3 times per day so i insist on a cominolli safety. and of course 1 chambered.

I alternate between an H&K HK45C and a Glock G30S. They are always chambered. I really like the Glock.

One of my two carry guns is a Glock 21 SF (cool weather). I ALWAYS carry one in the chamber. Practice good trigger finger control (off of the trigger until ready to rock and roll) and you will be perfectly safe.
