Glock 38, 39 the 45 caliber alternatives to the Glock 19/23 and 26/27

Ever wished the Glock 19/23 or 26/27 launched a 45 diameter bullet? That option has been available for several years, 45 GAP.
The Glock 38 in 45 GAP uses the same frame as a 19/23 and has an eight shot magazine.
The Glock 39 in 45 GAP uses the same frame as a 26/27 and has a six shot magazine.
The slides on the 38 & 39 are slightly thicker, 1.12" vs 1.00" on a Glock 26.
The slightly thicker slide makes a Glock 39 about 2 ounces heavier than a Glock 26.

I've shot bullets from 160 - 230 grains, 5 shot chrono averages out of my pistols:

Glock 38:
Winchester 230 Ranger T @ 837 fps/ 358# KE
Speer Gold Dot 200 @ 949 fps / 400# KE
Speer Gold Dot 185 @ 1,062 fps / 463# KE
Buffalo Bore Barnes Tac-XP 160 @ 1,197 fps / 509# KE

Glock 39:
Winchester 230 JHP @ 779 fps / 310# KE
Winchester 185 Silvertip @ 875 fps / 315# KE
Winchester 230 Ranger T @ 797 fps / 324# KE
Speer Gold Dot 200 @ 889 fps / 351# KE
Speer Gold Dot 185 @ 994 fps / 406# KE

The Buffalo Bore Barnes Tac-XP resulted in some bulged brass, more out of the 39 than the 38.

Glock 38 & 39 offer a 45 caliber bullet, from a 9mm/40 size frame.

Have not seen GAP ammo at the local Mart or gun store?
Ammo availability is not a problem:
GunBot 45gap pistol ammo
45gap ammo handgun

If you stick to local options, they likely don't carry 50 round boxes of Gold Dot, HST, or Ranger in any caliber; if you want something other than 20 round boxes of HP at premium prices or basic FMJ it may require going beyond local availability, regardless of caliber.

Spare me either of these jaded replies:
"A solution looking for a problem"
"An answer to a question nobody asked"

I've seen them before and they are still trifling.

No, never did. There's really nothing a 45acp bullet can do that a 40s&w can't. Then figure a pistol chambered for the 40 will hold more rounds. So no.

Make a 45 caliber entry hole.

Yes, a 40 holds more rounds; I have 40 caliber Glocks too.
