Glock 30 pistol

A few days ago I went to the local gun store and put a Glock 30 in Layaway, I would have rather bought it on the spot but since I'm poor I could not do this. this will be my first Glock and I will be using it for ccw . I would like to know your opinion of this Firearm and what loads work the best for you .:thank_you2:

Sweet! Have you look at the G30S I have seen on one of hickco video that the slide is smaller on the G30S is an awesome shooter and just right for carry, it holds 10+1 or more like 9+1?

yes, mojoman, I saw a video on the g30s also, the slide is a lot thinner than the standard g30 an would no doubt be more comfortable in the iwb carry that I use . but then I was thinking the wider heavier slide of the g30 might help tame the recoil a bit with the snappy 45 recoil. the g30s does look sweet though. I was also considering the springfield xdm 3.8 45 as well but the sticker shock hit me. Lol

I used to have a Glock 30 but like a dumbass, I sold it to my son-in-law. I carry a Glock 27 which is a bit lighter and slimmer. Now I'm looking for another Glock 30 at gunshows and in the paper. I don't want to buy a new one because of the paper trail. I do recomend getting a +2 for the magazines. It gives you extra grip and adds two rounds to the mag.

45 ACP is awesome

I have the G21 but both are awesome. I like 200 gr jacketed hand loads for mine. I find the plastic guns shoot the lighter stuff better IMO. Now I want a G30, G19, G26, G20, G23 etc etc

You might want to hold a G30SF if you get a chance to. The short frame (SF is short frame, not slim frame) fits my hand much better than the standard frame, and I've had many other gun owners tell me the same thing. I've never fired a G30S, so I can't vouch for any difference in recoil, but I can tell you the recoil on my G30SF is tamer than the recoil on my G27, even though the G27 is a smaller caliber.

For self defense, I use 230 grain Hydra Shok (HST) or 230 grain Speer Gold Dots.

I think that the recoil is subjective to each person, I have the XDs .45 which is good for me but to some it's not you have to go and rent one and see.

Sure would be nice if we could buy everything we want right on the spot. The Glock 30 is well worth waiting for. Mine is almost exclusively my edc, (I sometimes waltz with my GI 1911 by Rock Island). That Glock 30 eats every kind of 230g HP, or 230FMJ ammo that I have tried and I have no complaints. It can be hard to load a full mag with a round in the chamber. It feels like you gottta force in the full mag instead of just loading the gun. I would recommend getting Pearce extensions for the magazines because they give you something to wrap that pinky around and help you get a better grip. You've made an excellent choice!

p.s. Mama used to say, 'Son we ain't poor. Were just broke'.
