I'm a Glock snob. I have a bunch of them and prefer teaching PP with a Glock... less for new students to fool with.

To me beauty is flawles function. When you need that gun to protect your life, the loudest sound in world is "click." I favor my G27 and G26, both with CT Laser Grips and TruGlo TFO sights. They conceal IWB at 3:30 really well.

Guys flocks are really nice but also look at the m&P 40c I carry this pistol every where and over 4000 rounds through it and never an issue in fact it will beg for more from you

I carry a generation 2 G22 myself, never had issues with it. And I carry it with one of those evil hollowpoints in the chamber, usually either a Gold Dot or Golden Saber.

You might take a look at Federal HST 165 grain. A lot of depts are moving to that. A good round and a bit cheaper than GD or Sabers usually.

Another bonus with the 27, is you can buy a 9mm and a 357 sig barrel and be able to shoot all three calibres from the same gun.

The only caveat with the 165 gr. 40S&W loads is you need to make sure it's not one of the underpowered subsonic loads in that weight. The FBI back in the early 1990's requested a downloaded version of the 165gr. JHP, it's one of the few loads in 40S&W that won't cycle reliably in Glocks and a lot of other semi-autos. Federal and CCI are the only two companies that made these underpowered loads, the 165gr. Golden Saber is a full powered load.

You are correct about FBI reduced loads - but in Federal ammo, this applies to the Hydra-Shok only. Below are the ballistics on Hydra-Shok and HST:

The Hydra-Shok numbers come off the Federal website ballistics charts; The HST comes off the boxes since Federal has not posted them on the website yet (at least I can't find them). You will notice the HST in 165g is the fastest/hardest hitting of all. The difference in (HYD) 1000 fps vs (HST) 1130 fps and (HYD) 400 ftlb vs (HST) 470 ftlb is a nice difference worth considering.

I will stand by these numbers as I have both in my inventory.

In my Glock .40s, I use to never use less than 180g in anything until the HST arrived. I have no problem with HST 165g. Now if they'd only put a post in it. :biggrin:

Both are very fine firearms. I don't believe you can go wrong with either. Go with what fits your hand best.

Great choice! I have carried a Glock 19 since 1988 until I started carrying a Glock 26 in 2001. Both flawless trough 10s of thousands of rounds and have traveled the world with them. Only reason I haven't yet adopted the .40 is because 9mm is readily available everywhere. I brought the Glock 19 and a SW 645 stainless to Panama. Could only shoot the G19 and had to horde .45 ammo.

xd, glock, and m&p are all great guns, you can nut swing on whichever one you like...or all of them for that matter. i swap out between an xd40 subcompact and a glock 27 for my main carry guns. i prefer the XDs because i shoot them much better than my glocks...but the glock is a little smaller and lighter so i find myself carrying it more often.

if your tossing up between the two and you can only have one...see which one you shoot better. at the end of the day being able to hit your target is what counts...not the gun you did it with.

I own and love my G27. I carry it + 1 with Golden Sabers. The gun and ammo shoot very nice, yes.
