The reason I asked is I have avoided compensated models because the release of gases prior to the round leaving the barrel reduces the bullet's ballistics slightly. And handguns are fairly weak in the first place. Plus, I don't like the flash being released upward as it can play havoc with night vision, dirty the front sights, and so on. However, I understand your response that it stabilizes the pistol for the accuracy you mention.
