This sounds like an isolated deal, sorry it happened to ya.. My glock G22 has never jamed either, I know good amunition is a plus, but your spring and seat issue is likely the problem I am sure they will get is sorted out for you and you will be back in business.. Good luck.

After buying the Glock 22 Gen4 2 weeks ago, went back to gun shop and bought a Colt Commander full size & a Glock 19 Gen 4, shot 50 rounds through Glock with one stove pipe ( limp wristing :man_in_love: )

Commander had to have work done to the rail it was so tight it would lock up full back, had to hit it to get it to
release, lucky the gun store has a smith on site he made the adjustments for me ....... shot great after that,:yu:

No problems with the Glock 22 Gen 4 on first 50 down range,leasantry:

OK, Enough moaning about the spring system already!

Anybody who can find the Tittusville Rifle and Pistol club on their Computer, find todays match, not the results, the stage descriptions.

One stage had you standing up, behind a big foam pad, pistol loaded with 6 rounds, on pad pointing down range, on side, butt facing your strong hand side. On the beep, drop to knees, flip it over, pick it up with weak hand, fire two rounds on each of three targets on left of barricade in front of you (did I mention your strong hand was disabled, you can clear a malfunction with two hands, but you still incurred a penalty) then it locks back. You had to put the pistol down butt facing the weak side, now locked back. Weak hand is now disabled, flip pistol over with strong hand, pick it up in strong hand, drop magazine, reload from a concealed magazine on belt (covered by cover garment) Concealed!

Girth challenged shooters had trouble, can you spell tough!

Most stood gun on slide after dropping mag, leaned against thigh, then put magazine in, don't forget, weak hand is out of commission.

After reload, pick gun up, lean around right side (if you were right handed) of barricade, shoot next, last, three targets, strong hand only.

Shall I get back to the Gen4 Spring system now? I had no malfunctions, none! Me using Gen4 model 19, no back strap extensions. Out of box.

Pro reloads, 147g jacketed, nominal velocity of 914 fps, a large amount of one hand, and weak hand shooting took place, no malfunctions, the spring system worked with the pro reloads as promised.

So this 74 year old had no malfunctions, as promised (well maybe not) promised that is.

Very difficult to asses recoil control whilst shooting a match 95+F Temp;
with sweat dripping in your eyes, no failures to seat or eject at all!

I do believe the times we had to fire 4 shots on a target, sometimes 6, recovery was quicker shot to shot.

Knowing the construction of the pistol, it makes sense that it would be quicker back on target. Well is not the whine that it controls the recoil to much? Well 150? rounds, perfect function.

Not a huge test, but our next batch off this same reloader will be velocity upped to 950 fps, not a big increase, but won't do any harm.

A wee bit more safety factor, 914 to 950.

FYI... I started this thread. My Gen 4 Glock 22 has been flawless after I passed the 500 rd mark. I now have more that 3500 rds through it and use it for IDPA and I trust it and beleive in it now. I was really worried when I first got it.

So very glad that your G224gen is working like it should, Gen4G19 was one of the first 100 into Florida, it has no use for light reloads at all!

But with my 147g rounds it works like a charm. What ammo are you using?

With the amount of strong hand/weak hand shooting I did on Sunday, at the IDPA match, and from awkward positions, no problems, I am happy now. I bought my first Glock 17 in Ontario Canada in 1984, incredible pistols.

I typically shoot IDPA and practice with Federal .40 180gr FMJ. I will also use Winchester White Box 165gr FMJ on occasion at the range.

BTW I didn't put in that I started the Thread to gloat or anything like that. It was just to diffrentiate my case from the others

Are we being a little sensitive here? OK, no more leg pulling. Took a 3.5 lb trigger connector, and stuck it into my 4thgen Model 19 today. Wow, old parts so they were well worn in. Nice trigger release, this just for IDPA, bit to light for carry.

Will try it out soon as I can.

Hello,

I purchased a new Glock 22 Gen 4 yesterday. I have shot 210 rounds through it and it has "Stove Piped" (empty shell getting caught on ejection) 4 times. The dealer things that I might be buffering the kick with my arms/hands which reduces it's ability to conpletly kick out the shell. After the first two times, I was extra careful not to let it kick and locked my arm.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have with my Glock 22 gen4 and problem also causes poor casing ejection often hitting you on the head and face ! there is a new ejector replacing the one stamped 1882 .
