Glock 19 Concealability

I am taking my CCW class this weekend and I have a Glock 19 currently. I am curious to know if anyone out there carries a Glock 19 and can give me some tips on best ways you have found to conceal carry. I am about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weigh around 160.

Other than being 2 inches taller than you are, we're about the same and I carry the Glock 23 (same size) everywhere I go. The biggest factor to consider will be the holster. There are several out there that will help a lot, but for me I picked the crossbreed supertuck and carry at the 3 o'clock position with no real issues.

There are other great holsters out there, and I am sure you will get a lot of good advice as to what they all use, but if you can, try several brands and see which works best for you.

I'm similar in h/w. I carry a G 19 or G 23, depending on what I'm doing and where I'll be. Carry methods vary depending on what I'm doing as well. I did spend a lot of time selecting my holsters and ensuring that they fit properly as well as functioned as I need them to.

Unless you're required to take a holster to the class, I'd recommend going to the class to learn about different carry methods and choices before purchasing a holster. If you need a "concealed holster", I'd recommend purchasing an economical OWB and conceal using an untucked shirt.

Good luck with your class!

I borrowed a Glock 19 from my son and carried it for a week in NC (yes, I have a TX CHL and yes, its legal in NC), using a IWB holster (Blade-Tech from Cheaper Than Dirt); it was the most comfortable holster/gun combination I've ever tried. I recently bought those holsters for a Kimber Pro-Carry and a Glock 17; they work equally as well. It's comfortable, easy to conceal and quick to access.

My sigma is about the same size as the Glock 19. I just bought a IWB holster from Tagua leather holsters. They make IWB holsters for the Glock 19. I had to use one for a Taurus Millennium Pro to fit my Sigma...

I'm left handed, and wear mine at about 8 o'clock. Can't even tell it's on me. I'm 5'7" 125lb...

I love my Crossbreed Supertuck for my 19...just makes it disappear and me forget I am wearing it.

I'm just a little thinner...5'10" and 160.

OWB, pack, or IWB

I spend most of my day sitting on my butt.

I carry outside the waistband with Safariland 528-283 mostly. I wear a baggy shirt when it is hot or a jacket when it is cool.

Alternative carry in a Soft Armor waist pack 800-346-4545. I wear the pack when I go where I might have to strip down, like the doctor's office, or when I know I am going to a prohibited place like a government building. It is safer to pop off the pack and secure it than be manipulating an unholstered weapon repeatedly.

The Crossbred supertuck is good, but it hurts my hip during extended wear and walking. I wear it occasionally in the Summer or if I must wear a tuck in shirt and no jacket.

I'm close to the same size, 5'-8"/170 lbs. I carry my Glock 19 in a Supertuck at 4:30 (just out of sight behind my hip). I also carry my Glock 26 in the same holster in the same location. The 26 hides better than the 19 but not a lot better. The shorter grip helps.

I've also carried the 19 in a VM-II on my right hip when wearing a sweatchirt and it hides very well. Of the two holsters, the SuperTuck works best for me.

When I had a G19, I used a simple FOBUS holster most the time. I now have a Springfield XD9 sub, I like the Desantis speed scabbard. The XD conceals much better/and more comfy than the 19 did.
