Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff John Walsh states that such an incident never took place. snopes.com: Home Invasion Thwarted by 11-Year-Old Girl. While it may be a great story, unfortunately it holds no merit. But thank for your sharing, it is a fun read!

The fact that there was no link to an actual story in the news gave it away that its just another one of those "inspiring" but fictional emails people forward around.

With that said, if I have a daughter, she sure will be trained on how to use guns from an early age.
