getting up and down comfortability question

Hey guys, I'm new and have a quick question, wondering if any of you have or had the same problem. When I carry IWB its completely comfortable for me as long as im standing, but as soon as I go to sit down in my car for example, my gun digs right into my side, even if I adjust it. It's at the point where every time I get into my car I have to take it out of the holster. Does anyone else have this problem, and do you just take it out whenever you sit down? Or is there something to make it a little more comfortable for the up/down motion. Thanks

Loosen up your belt to give you more freedom to adjust and move your gun to a more comfortable position. For long drives you might just put the whole rig on the passenger seat.

I have a Remora holster with full sweat shield. I wear it at 3:00, with just a very slight forward can't. It conceals my little Bersa well, and doesn't jab me either standing or sitting.
Removing it from the holster might make it a little more comfortable when your in your vehicle, but that might be hard to do in an office environment.
Hope you get the problem solved,
Uncle Al

I used to have a little problem when I carry a FS 1911. Using a little bit of the FBI cant and 3:30ish carry helped a ton. I give the pistol just a little bit of a push on the beaver tail to "twist" it forward when I sit in the car. No problems.

Crossdraw at 10 or 11 o'clock. Crossbreed quickclip or desanti iwb. You will be hooked. Give it a try and practice drawing that way.

I have taken my revolver out of my holster while driving. I have that problem when carrying in the 5 o'clock position. Not as bad at the 3/4 o'clock position. It's okay in the appendix position too. Not much problems when riding the Harley.

You either need a better holster, or you need to adjust the holster location a little to make it more comfortable. I carry a full size .45 or a glock 19 in a crossbreed supertuck inside the waste band at 8:00 with no problems at all.

To give you a solution we would need to know what holster are you using, what gun, what position you carry in and how is it canted? Most importantly WHERE (specifically) is the discomfort?

I where my Bersa in a kholster at 3-3:30, I don't even feel it anymore. The only time it's uncomfertable is if I have to lay or roll over on it.

You can tell from the variety of answers that there are many options. You need to find a holster and position that works well for you. I can assure you that it is different for each person, holster and gun a where I put my full size auto is not where my snubby revolver feels and conceals the best and vice versa. Your gun should Be comfortable in any normal position an conceal well in that position as well. It is probably going to take a drawer full of holsters and many looks in the mirror to get it right for you, but enjoy the journey and understand that it's an individual situation that others can help with but ultimately can't solve for you.

Practice, practice, practice. This applies not only to shooting well, but operating your holster well. With an unloaded gun, practice at home unholstering your weapon. Also, practice bending over, reaching for something on the floor, reaching for something high (to see if you become unconcealed) and YES sitting down and standing up. If you try adjusting and adjusting and adjusting and still cannot find a comfortable position, the problem is not in the carrying, it is most likely in the holster. There are good holsters and crappy holsters out there.

May I ask what kind of holster and firearm you have? That will give me an idea why it is digging into you so much.
