Getting pulled over by the police with a CCW

This is making a good point.
You are legal; your papers are in order. But you are still being treated like someone who cannot be trusted.
Yes, you had been finger printed,
Yes, you had a background check.
Yes, you attended a training class.
And the cop that unloaded your gun may have had his finger on the trigger of your gun and may have been pointing in your direction. Has he had any training on the model of gun that you were carrying? The answer to that in most cases is NO.

I live in Ohio and the recommendation here is to make sure you open your window and have your hands on the steering wheel when the cop comes to the window. Then let them know that you are ccw and have a weapon in the car.

If the cop freaks out, make sure you get his/her badge number and report them for conduct unbecoming and push that you felt threatened, especially if you feel threatened... An acquaintance of mine actually had a cop pull his weapon on him.

Regardless, be careful and definitely be respectful.

What is the correct procedure if you get pulled over by the police and you have a Concealed Carry? I heard that you have to immediately tell the officer you have a gun, but what is the proper way in saying this without sounding the least bit threatening?

it all depends on the state you are in, in some states you are required to inform the cop immediately and in other states you have no obligation to inform the cop.
some people believe it is always a good idea to inform regardless of being required to while I and many others do not think it is a good idea to inform. YMMV

It's not only a recommendation in Ohio, but also a statutory requirement.

I carry mine in a removable bifold from my wallet with my drivers liscence, so if i ever have to show it to an officer they are both presented. :-)

I've already stated that I wouldn't inform unless required to do so by law. That said, If asked Colorado Law does require that I respond truthfully and present my CHP w/ a valid I.D.

In the event that I did so and the cop "freaked out" the very next (and last) words out of my mouth would be 'I have nothing further to say with out my attorney present and i'd like you to contact your supervisor and have him/her meet us here." after that not one word would come out of my mouth.
