getting a new gun

I am planning on getting a new handgun and was wanting some input into which gun I should get. I was thinking of getting a sig sauer or a beretta 92fs in silver. I know that both of them are very good guns with a great track record and I already have a beretta that I use for my carry gun.

How about a 1911, taurus judge, taurus public defender poly, 1911, double tap, desert eagle baby eagle,1911, cz75, glock 30s, did I mention a 1911.
You can't have too many 1911's.

Oh and since you mentioned sig, they make a 1911
And I like their p238. It's like a baby 1911

Your question is way too vague. A firearm is a tool and one of the reasons there are so many of them is because they are designed for different purposes. Why do you want a new handgun? What will you be doing with this new handgun? Do you wish it to be concealable? Do you wish to carry it openly? Is it for defensive purposes? If so, in the home, or with you at all times? Is it for target shooting? Is it for hunting?

Answer these questions and you will get a much more narrowed list of opinions form posters.... you may just be able to narrow it down enough to ask the forum about 2 or 3 different makes.

This thread is similiar to asking what type of vehicle you should get without knowing your budget, the area you live in or if you need the vehicle for a specific purpose (towing, etc).

So if you want any real help, give more info and be detailed. Otherwise, you'll get responses like this "Get a glock" or "Get a 1911"

Well, I've got both a Beretta 92fs as well as a Sig P250C. Both are great guns, but I like the Beretta a bit more. That thing is extremely accurate.
Either way, you can't go wrong.

Check them all out b4 making a decision. B4 I bought my Ruger P345 I checked out every pistol the gun stores in town had. Some I discounted as too small for my big hands others just didn't fit right. As soon as I pu the Ruger I knew it was the right one for me & haven't been dissappointed in my choice since I bought it over 5 yrs ago.

I used to carry OWB all the time then AZ passed a law saying I didn't need a permit to carry concealed & I've been carrying concealed IWB since. I put on one of my fovorite OWB holsters on Fri & carried all day & found I didn't like carrying that way at all anymore. Seemed like I was banging my pistol into things every time I turned around so Sat I went back to my IWB holster & felt more comfortable.

Get serious, if you really want answers how much do you want to spend, do you want 9mm or another caliber, will you use it for home defense/range? Give us some info.

500 to a 1000 dollars would be about the limit for what I want to spend but I'm willing to spend more if I have to. also caliber does not really matter anything from a 9mm to a 44mag. and to trailboss I already have a 1911 mine is a colt commander.

Agreed. Also, will you be twirling this gun before putting it in the holster? I watched a guy shoot himself in the shoulder with an M9 while doing it. Twirling would rule out the M9.

Take a look at the Stoeger Cougar --- made by a subsidiary of Beretta and a gun that has the quality of a gun that is twice the price.
