Getting a FL ccw permit

I take my class next week and will then apply. My question is that I had some bad luck in 2008 and want to know if this will hurt me now. I had never been in trouble with the law until then. I was working as a Paramedic and hurt my back and had many surgeries and went thru a divorce at the same time. I went to jail at least 5 times for child support and spent 21 days one time and all others were 2 to 3 days. I also had a couple of simple worthless check charges that I was put on probation for but paid off early and got off probation early. I have not had any trouble since. I bought a Springfield Xd last week and had to do a federal level 2 background check for my job 3 months ago without any trouble. Will my past hard ship stop me from getting the ccw permit. Thanks

No ur good! No worries on any of that as long as u were not charged with any felony's or had two or more drug charges

This is the info from the FL Dept of Ag site

Who Is NOT Eligible?
There are several disqualifying conditions that
will result in the ineligibility of the applicant and the
denial of the application. Possible reasons for denial
include the following:
• The physical inability to handle a firearm
safely.
• A felony conviction (unless civil and firearm
rights have been restored by the convicting
authority).
• Having adjudication withheld or sentence
suspended on a felony or misdemeanor crime
of violence unless three years have elapsed
since probation or other conditions set by the
court have been fulfilled.
• A conviction for a violent crime in the last
three years, either misdemeanor or felony.
• A conviction for violation of controlled
substance laws or multiple arrests for such
offenses.
• A record of drug or alcohol abuse.
• Two or more DUI convictions within the
previous 3 years.
• Being committed to a mental institution or
adjudged incompetent or mentally defective.
• Failing to provide proof of proficiency with a
firearm.
• Having been issued a domestic violence
injunction or an injunction against repeat
violence that is currently in force.
• Renunciation of U.S. citizenship.
• A dishonorable discharge from the armed
forces.
• Being a fugitive from justice.

And they have an online questionnaire to see if you qualify.

You should be OK...as long as no felonies and no domestic violence...

Make the appointment and go to the licensing division office. You will get your permit much quicker, and they will take the photo, fingerprints and hand prints required.
I got my permit within 2 weeks of my appointment. If i had mailed it in I would have been waiting for a lot longer (in some cases months)
Be advised they will not accept cash. When I got mine it was 117 bucks and I had to pay with a money order or check only (no plastic allowed either)
that was back in 2010
