Gap in Walther PPS: Defect or normal?

Excuse the simple question, but I've been a revolver guy all my life & my recently purchased Walther is my first foray into semi-auto. But, that gap I'm seeing between the slide and the frame, is that typical or some type of assembly defect?

I sense no problems with the action, but I haven't even hit the range yet and wonder if I should get it checked out before I shoot a round with it.

I have one. Great shooter. Probable the best "fit in your hand" pistol made. Some question the sights but I have no problem.

I couldn't agree with you more, sir. Have to do a bit of a pinkie wrap on 6-round/concealed mag, but the added dovetail on the 7 & 8-round fit like a glove.

I have the PPS M2, Its my go to carry gun above any other gun I own! and do love everything about it but I must say as far as "best fit in MY hand" I would give it to my CCP! Its easily the best gun I have ever picked up! As far as FIT! But I do feel the PPS M2 is a much better gun! Imo.
