G30 or G36

One of these is going to be my next purchase for EDC, I currently carry a G26, however I'm wanting to go up in caliber to a 45 ACP.

Which one between the G30 and the G36 would you guys recommend?

Thanks for the insight

When I was looked for something to go along with my G21
I looked at both G30 and G36, and got the G36.
however sometimes I think I should have gotten the G30 since the grip is a little longer.

I since have gotten a Sprinfield XD I do not miss my Glock
Almost right a way I thought, this XD is what a Glock should be.
Now Springfield has come out with a single stack XDs slim. I may have to change guns again.

I went with the G36 & do not regret it. Fits my hands perfectly, its weight & size makes it more concealable than the 30. Also be mindful that the XDs has a 5 shot magazine & will probably have a shorter grip.

I had pretty much the same problem--could not choose between G30 & G36. My solution? I en ded up getting both. Both are plenty accurate and flawlessly reliable. They take turns as my EDC weapons. I have +1 extensions on most of my G36 mags, so I usually use them when carrying the 36, but if wardrobe dictates (because of longer grip with the +1s), I can use the stock mag. When carrying the G30, I use the stock mag and have a G21 mag available as well. I use a Shielded Holster Phalanx, but most of the time I use a MIC that I've modified by adding a J-hook to make it tuckable. Hope this info helps.

How well do you like the subcompact? I had a hard time liking that small of a gun and carry capacity. Unless you're completely sold on glock, you should get your hands on the S&W M&P .45 compact. It has a nice grip with 8+1 capacity. I love how it shoots and fits in my hand...its my EDC. Thought I would throw that out there! Good day.

I have a Glock 26 and just yesterday I took home the SA XDm 3.8" 45ACP Compact. Hoping to go shoot it later this week.

I also got both although my 30 is an SF. I was a bit concerned with capacity of the 36 but started thinking that if I had to shoot, I was probably not going to be in a firefight so I have let that concern go by the wayside.

I thought the 30SF might be too heavy with a full magazine but I have found that I can't tell the difference when I have them strapped on. I was used to to a Sig anyway so both the Glocks feel lighter.

I use the slightly skinier 36 under tighter clothes.

Both shoot great, feel almost the same in my hand and as in anything strapped to my side, I fear no evil. I still pray every day that I don't have to use it.

I carry a G27 and G30. The 30 has been lauded as a very accurate firearm even over the 36 but I feel that is simply oppinion. I read an article (do not remember the publication) that compared all of the .45 that Glock offered and the 30 was their #1. It's only slightly larger than the 27 and works very well with a smartcarry, A 3 hole cobra gunskin and crossbreed super tuck. I find that I carry the 27 more but in extremely cold weather I have the 30.

Good luck,

Steve

Of the two given choices, I would select the 36 because I prefer the feel and the concealability of the single stack. But I must agree with trailboss. I like my XD's and that new XDS looks like it is worth investigating. I'd love to see an XDS and a Kimber Solo but I can't find either in real life.
