G23 and P239 .40 compared

This was my first Glock and I have to say, I kinda see what all the fuss is about, out of the box it's got fantastic accuracy and even though it is entirely subjective, I felt my groups were much tighter than my P239. Having said that the P239 is much more pleasant to shoot and cycle. Was very impressed with the Glock though. Although I'm not such a fan about the size of the trigger guard, imo it's too small and would be a problem wearing gloves, my finger drags against the bottom every time I fire it.

A side note, the G23 is obviously lighter and probably more suited to carry but I still love my P239.

Guess yer right, deepstare. I have always liked shooting Sigs. 239 in 9mm & 229 in .40. Would like a 239 in the 357sig.

Ok so question of my own... I own a glock 19 gen 4, which I picked up as a replacement for a Kahr pm9. wanted something more enjoyable to shoot. this is a concealed carry weapon, but I also want to enjoy it recreationally as well. after researching to buy my first pistol, I decided on the 9mm because it seemed like the best all around caliber. decent knock down power, moderate recoil, inexpensive... lately tho, I've been being enticed by the .40s&w. I've shot the Sig p226 in .40, and tho it felt smoother than other .40's I've shot, it still seemed to have quite a bit more muzzle flip to it than 9mm. how would u say the Sig and glock compare in this arena? I know .40 is said to be a snappier round, which was why I started out with 9mm, but I'm wondering if the dual recoil spring of the glock 23 gen 4 would help tame the bite of the .40 enough to make it worth switching. thoughts??

My P239 in 40 is my second carry weapon behind a 3 inch 1911. I am very happy with the P239 and have found it to be very accurate and easy to shoot well. Some feel the 40 is "snappy" but I have neverhad an issue with it. Much more iinteresting to shot than a 9mm in my opinion. The P239 also carries easily and conceals well. I am not a Block fan at all so to me it is not even close. The P239 wins easily.

thanks fir the opinion. it's hard because there are SO many different opinions out there! I love my glock! since getting it I've become a huge glock fan. guess I'll just have to shoot the 23 gen 4 to see what I think.

I love my G23. The Sig is a great gun, but it just don't compare to the G23 when it comes to a CCW.
