FTF Malfunctions due to Technique

Below is the text of a message I sent to an expert in the field this morning. Anyone have any thoughts? It's baffling to me!

Good morning,

Just wanted to let you know that I sent around 400 rounds downrange on the weekend with interesting results.

Overall, my accuracy is back without issue, but i noticed something else: When I shot two-handed (right side strong), I had occasional "fail to feed" malfunctions. Not too many, but some. When I shot single handed either with my right hand or my left, I had no malfunctions of any kind.

Is it possible that my fail-to-feed issue could be related to a flaw in my two-hand technique?

Yes. Strong and reaction hand shooting alows the recoil to operate with less flesh around the slide. Also it you tend to grip the pistol tighter with one handed shooting. Were as freestyle you have a tendency to have a less pronounce grip and can ride the slide or be on the slide relive. Practice your grip, watch dave sivigney or bob vogal.

+1 Well said

"Limp-wristing" in my experience is the #1 cause of failure to feeds, outside of mechanical malfunctions.

It also tends to be more pronounced with smaller weapons and smaller cartridges. My pocket .380 is the perfect example. If you're not keeping an adequate grip, she'll jam up every time.

I'd recommend watching the Magpul Dynamics demonstration by Travis Haley, regarding grip. He explains it quite well.
