From the NRA

Received this in an email from the NRA. Take the poll.

Have you ever had a traffic ticket, or have you ever fallen behind paying a bill?

Most Americans have…and if Mayor Michael Bloomberg gets his way, each of these harmless infractions will be grounds for denying your Second Amendment rights.

Parking ticket? No gun. Traffic ticket? No gun.

Late on a bill? NO GUN.

This is just one of dozens of new gun control schemes to BAN your guns…REPEAL your right to carry a firearm for personal protection…RATION your firearm purchases…REGISTER your guns with the government...and, SURRENDER the Second Amendment to the United Nations.

Why is legislation designed to strip you of your Second Amendment rights surfacing in the U.S. Congress, state legislatures and city halls across America?

I'll tell you why…Because lawmakers are being bombarded with biased media polls that show Americans like you support MORE gun control laws.

CNN, ABC, MSNBC, and CBS are holding up phony media polls that claim Americans like you want MORE gun control, MORE restrictions on gun ownership, and LESS freedom to carry a firearm for personal protection.

A recent poll conducted by Time magazine claims 62% of Americans want to BAN commonly owned semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and pistols.

An NBC News poll claims that a MAJORITY of Americans think gun control laws should be "made more strict."

How could these polls be so wrong?

Because they didn't ask YOU – a law-abiding gun owner and freedom-loving American – where YOU stand on our Second Amendment rights.

That is why NRA's Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) created the 2011 Truth About Gun Owners (TAG) Poll. And to help NRA-ILA battle back against the stacked polls that are driving a renewed push to ban your guns, please answer your NRA-ILA TAG Poll by CLICKING HERE NOW.

Polls can be biased or simply irrelevant, especially because of the question asked.

Asking the general public if they would like more sex will probably result in an overwhelming majority responding affirmatively, but that doesn't mean they want more prostitution.

So I agree with the NRA that polls asking "do you want more gun control" are not legit for asserting that the general public wants more restrictions on their ability to own firearms.

But claiming that the polls were in favor of gun control because they didn't ask law abiding gun owners is just NRA BS.

Yet the actuality is that gun-control support is losing ground. Just look how many states have enacted CCW laws and instituted castle doctrine and stand-your-ground laws since 2000. Look at the success of cases like Heller and McDonald. The media outlets are decidely liberal and keep pushing the anti-gun agenda just as they push other agendas of socialism and class warfare. How many of these gun-control media prostitutes refuse to cover fast-n-furious. Our government may have committed some very serious crimes, even violating international treaties, yet it doesn't serve the liberal media bias to report truth. News agencies aren't in the truth business. They carve out a demographic and sell advertising to that demographic for a profit. The truth has been lost in rhetoric and false statistics.

Perhaps the first amendment could be turned on them, allowing freedom of expression for only that written with a feathered pen.

And a poll that is "opt-in" solicited solely by an organization on one side of the argument isn't scientifically valid. If anti-gun lawmakers see a "95% of people who answered this poll are pro-gun-rights" poll, conducted as an opt-in poll by the NRA, they'll dismiss it completely.

You need to show those lawmakers the Gallup poll from last month that shows 47% of households (including 40% of "Democrat or Democrat-leaning",) have a gun. That is a scientifically-conducted poll by an independent group.

....get beligerant...go to Gitmo! They got you coming and going :)

Just where they want you. Quiet, docile, obediant, dependent, non-questioning (threatening) and totally enthralled and in awe of "Der Leader".

.. and the last necessary step to this "worker's valhalla", deprive the general population from weaponry of any sort. Then the essential elements of totalitarian "control" will be complete. Positional/Legal control. Educational/Indoctrination control. Financial/dependency control. PHYSICAL/armed might control.

Four little steps to dominance.

Constitution? Outdated unrealistic blather.

Overall mission status? Ongoing and accelerating.

A parking ticket = no gun? Shouldn't it be that a parking ticket = no drivers license for the rest of your life? Or, how about special plates that disallow parking on public streets?
