A small person or someone with a weak grip will not be able to retain control of a large or determined medium sized dog with that configuration. Unless it is adjustable like some pistols, it will be uncomfortable for 2 out of 3 people who pick it up (as in small, medium, large hands).

My personal reaction is I don't think it looks cool to appear that I'm trying to shoot the dog I'm walking, which is the first thought that came to my mind my when I viewed the picture.

but I love my dog...more than most people. that puts her in harms way. I would rather she wear a vest that carried my firearm. Then I would get her a CCW badge so everyone knew she was a professional.

Not for me, love my dogs and can't get a kick out of pretending to gun them down.
