FPSRussia Raid: Kyle Myers's Property Searched By Federal Agents

I thought tannerite was the manufacturer of the explosives for business purposes...so what does that have to do with Kyle, the end user of the product?

Everything I've been reading theorizes one of two things...

1. They are looking for evidence in the death of his business partner last year...

2. That he legally uses explosives but illegally makes a profit from using those explosives....

The best quote I've read so far:

"i cant pay a chick to suck my d!ck. But i can pay a chick to suck my d!ck and film it and post it on the internet and it will be porno, not prostitution"

That is a great analogy of what the whole tannerite issue is about...

You start using explosives and blowing things up, you better be checking in to all existing laws both State and Federal . for sure if the ATF feels they have a chance to put you in prison they surly will give it a try.

Hope it's not been posted, looked but didn't see it

FPSRussia Raid: Kyle Myers's Property Searched By Federal Agents

Nutnfancy better have his eyes peeled! I mean, this guy here is as harmless as nutnfancy, or hickok45, or sootch00, or gunwebsites or about a thousand other YouTubers that focus on guns and related gear.

And the feds and local LE don't even have their stories straight about why he was raided. BATFE has no jurisdiction over local murder investigations, yet they could involve the locals without even coordinating the reason they were there in the first place? Sounds like all concerned just wanted to silence this guy. If he is a legitimate murder suspect, I have no problem with him being arrested, but I can't imagine why the local LE would involve the BATFE if there really was a legitimate, good faith belief that Myers was their murder suspect. This story stinks to high Heaven so far.

Wow, Cali has a plethora of gun owners who should have removed the firearms out of their residence due to state and federal law, but havent, and our BATFE is going after a guy who uses a store bought explosive on Youtube........ Im sure raiding FPS place will make the world safer! I would ask if our government could get any dumber, but I know the answer is

YES

My take on it is since tannerite is a binary, you have to mix it before using it. I think they're trying to spin that as "manufacturing" and since he gets paid from YouTube from videos of him using it he's in violation. It's thin...to say the least.

It's illegal to get paid to blow sh!t up?

Yep... The government wants their cut of the pie before you can do it.
So you can't charge for a fireworks show?

The law says you cannot "manufacture explosives for a commercial purpose" without a license. If you plan on charging for a fireworks show you have to buy the fireworks or have a license to make them. Like I said, tannerite is manufactured, sold, and shipped as two separate components ( a binary explosive) in order to comply with federal explosives transportation laws. I think in this case the prosecutors are trying to spin that final step of mixing the two components (by the end user) as part of the "manufacturing" process. Under that interpretation you cannot legally use tannerite for any commercial purpose without an explosives manufacturing license. We'll have to see what the courts think of that interpretation.

He makes a great case for the economy of using the Slide Fire Stock too:

I've been trying to find any followup stories on the raid/arrest(?), but so far nothing after the date that this thread was started. I did find a couple of stories saying there were no explosives found and no arrests made, but I think they were published before the connection was made between the ATF raid (that the media had next to no information on) and the murder investigation. Not sure if the "no arrests" reports are valid in light of that.

Anyway, I'm going to try to remember to check for updated info every so often. I'm curious about the facts of ATF case (if any) especially.
