It is not so much a different forum, but it is a much better forum. Relief at last!!!!!!!!
.
I would highly encourage everyone here, to place the folks on your ignore list, you do not get along with, so this forum seems like a friendlier place. Do I for yourself, and everyone reading the forum.
.
Watch some flamer, come into this thread, to cause trouble, rather than take the cheerful advice, to just place me on the Ignore List, or whoever gets under your buttons to tick us off.

This great new forum must be the one ET talks about that no one can find...

NRA,
I've already taken advantage of this and currently have 4 toads blocked. The funny part is they are not aware and keep posting snide reply comment to my comments, and not only do I not see them, but I don't give a big rats a$$. (can you guess who, I'll bet you can?)

Personally I find it odd to participate in an internet forum and then filter out the posts one disagrees with. I get that one might want to ignore someone harassing them or posting what one considers offensive statements. For example, if someone put me on their ignore list because some of my post about religion are offensive to their beliefs that is understandable. But as to the general topic of firearms and firearm related matters, it seems counter to the purpose of participating in a forum to ignore those you don't agree with. Most internet forums that are just cheerleaders for a particular point of view are boring and usually die out quickly.

I welcome intelligent banter, but the personal attacks, have no place. Filtering out the trash, makes it easier to find the better quality posts. Like yours.

I wish I would have done this a lot sooner!!!!!!!! Praise be to all four winds, and all Gods! lol

The best part about SR9 comment, is the only way he/she would know if the snide reply was towards him/her, was if the comment was viewed... Totally negating the ignore feature...smh...

I have some on my list and the only way I see their comments is when someone posts with a "Reply With Quote"! Wish there was a way to filter that out!!!

But even though there is some that get through it does help filter out inane comments and trouble makers. I must be doing something right because 3 on my list have been banned!

You have thicker skin than the average Joe. Some people get angry over any disagreement. They respond with insults and generalized statements. To me, when a person reacts with anger to a simple disagreement it signals a lack of self-confidence or poor self-image.

You have yet to have an online discussion with someone who disagrees with you without resorting to temper tantrums, childish name calling, and personal attacks.

All in favor of a forum name site change, raise your right hand (set the crack pipe down for three seconds)

Submissions include:

Moms Bacement Forums
Bong Times Forum
AirSoft & Cheetos Forum
Whine & Cheez Whiz Forum
Proof Smoking Dope Is Stupid Forum

Never thought I would find a gun forum, where the pot heads had free reign. I am also displeased the personal attacks are allowed to go on and on.

Since this forum is so distasteful to you, why are you still here? Are you hoping on doing some intervention here and "fix" those that disagree with you?

Yeah, whether it's intentional or unintentional, the ignore feature doesn't really do squat.

I don't use the ignore feature. "It's the mark of an intelligent man to exercises a thought without agreeing with it"...some here think age = wisdom and ignorance = truth.

I have been on here for quite some time and have yet to put anyone on my ignore list. There are a lot of people on here who can get on one's nerves and come up with some off the wall remarks that will infuriate you but that is the attraction, being able to make your comments. Even someone you consider to be a doofus can come up with some interesting material on a variety of subjects. As nogods said, one can disagree with his posts on religion and yet be in complete agreement with him in other areas. When it gets to the point we are all in agreement with each other about any given subject, all the fun will be gone from the forum.

I wonder why N R A doesn't just start his own "NRA Certified" gun forum where he can be the moderator who bans everyone who expresses an opinion he doesn't agree with.....you know, just like all the anti-gun group forums do.

Ignore is a tool to use... not to be confused by the tool who is put on ignore... when you come to the point where you realize that an internet forum s filled with fools, children and tools, who think they are a legend in their own mind, and that some people that offer good, sane and clear information.. after a while the fools remain fools and those with a decent measure of intelligence become clear.. ignoring the fools is a smart thing to do, because the fools are like those people you might meet in your real world , that you would never invite to your home or want to be their friend, and would never have anything in common.
Some people think that using a tool like ignore is no better than trying to use a screwdriver to brush your teeth,. people who know how to ( navigate an internet forum ) brush their teeth, find that using a toothbrush ( to keep the bacteria and crud from invading your internet forum experience ) to brush your teeth , is a valuable tool

The whole point of internet forums is so we can all be a-holes and not give a rats ass what anyone thinks...you guys do like me...don't you?

The irony is strong in this one
