Forensic Criminologist shows how fast an assailant can harm a cop from VERY far away

You hear all the time people demanding that police use tasers, and say that an assailant can’t really harm them from far away, but this forensic criminologist shows just how quickly someone can stab a cop before they can get their gun out of the holster.

Two seconds for a trained officer to draw his weapon and a perp can cover 21 feet in two seconds. People that believe they have time under stress to draw their weapon and rack the slide, because they aren't comfortable carrying a loaded gun, all in less then two seconds, really! Even with constant training, making quick decisions under stress isn't an easy thing to do.

The Tueller drill illustrates this perfectly. people who don't understand violent confrontations sit in their armchair and lecture the world on how one should react. "Why didn't you just shoot him in the leg" is usually the mantra. For these people the Tueller drill shows how little time there is even when one knows it's coming. Once caught even slightly behind the reactionary curve there is no "think time." Defense relies on instinct which has been instilled by training.
