For those who ride and attend motorcycle events

I know there are a lot of folks that ride motorcycles and attend motorcycle events/rallies and seeking advice...

I am new at obtaining my CHL and etc. I do ride and attend motorcycle events and have a few questions that I am seeking answers too...

I am planning on attending a motorcycle event and will be first time having a gun with me at a motorcycle event. I will also be camping at the event as well.

What do you'll do with your guns at a motorcycle event? It will be in a state where I am allowed to carry...but I am not sure if a person is allowed to carry concealed at the event? At night, there will be a beer tent with entertainment going on... is one allowed to carry in the beer garden and entertainment area if you are not drinking and/or if you possibly drink a beer or two?

How does one carry and keep gun concealed at all times when people are around when camping if you try to take gun on and off body.... carrying from bike to tent.... and possibly showering when there isn't much privacy?

I don't want to do anything against law or anything that will get me in trouble as its not something I need, want, or tying to do. I am going to be traveling long distance and like be able to carry for protection.

If your not allowed to carry concealed and etc at the event, where is the best place to keep the gun to where one won't see it and so forth? I am not sure what everyone does in all these type of situations as I know you are responsible for the gun and etc. I hope this makes sense on what I am trying to say.

Of course, a lot of forums ban the subject of guns and when you try to ask what the policy is on firearms at the event as you are suppose to do your research and etc... the thread is locked when trying to seek an honest answer and not stir up a firearm flaming war as that happened to a friend of mine and friend still doesn't have the answer about the policy for having firearms at the motorcycle event.

I hope you'll will be so kind to pass me some helpful and useful advice on my concerns.

Thanks so much in advance.

Most events have a sign that say "No weapons, No attitudes".
I have been to many events and some even have security that ask ( no patdowns yet), at one event I was asked to conceal my clipon pocket knife.

Ride on, shoot stright.

If you are tenting, There is no secure place for your weapon except on you.

As for shower, put gun in plastic baggie and take in shower with you.

Check with camp grounds about their policies. Campgrounds are private property.

I have never been checked going in to a beer tent or bar at Sturgis. Most of them do have signs, though.

I started a thread a while back that has quite a few responses, you may want to read through that.. Permitted Motorcyclist
Using the search feature, I also saw that there was a similar thread for Sport bikes..

I am NOT in Texas, but in Florida so laws a customs may be different..
You, as a concealed carry licensee, need to understand your laws for your state (And other states IF you travel), that is YOUR responsibility.
For Florida, there is a book you can purchase that is written by a lawyer that talks about all aspects of gun ownership. I don't know if there is such a thing for Texas residents or not, but I'm sure there are plenty of Website entries or you can search the Texas State site and at least read the laws pertaining to guns for your self...

Here in Florida, Carrying a gun at an event is no different than any other place. I've never seen a "No Weapons" sign at an event and I conceal carry wherever I go.. I just do IWB carry as I do otherwise..
One other choice is to get a tank bag or a waist pouch and carry in them (although the Waist pouch sort of screams "gun", but there is nothing wrong with that)..
In Florida you are allowed to drink while carrying, but whatever DUI rules your state have are the outside guideline for how much you should drink (not legally, but just common sense).

Enjoy your new permit, understand the laws and responsibilities that go along with it.. Keep the shiny side up, and the rubber side down..

You need to be specific about which rally. If Daytona Bikeweek, you can carry anywhere you would normally carry, but not into a restaurant. At the area surrounding Destination Daytona Harley, you can legally carry. If there is beer being sold outside at a concession stand near a concert stage, you are still OK. If you have to go inside a building where alcohol and food are served, then CC is NOT permitted.

In other words, if you have a permit that Florida recognizes, you can carry at the Bikeweek rally just like you can anywhere else in Florida, and not carry where Florida says you cant.

Actually Restaurant carry is fine in Florida.. IF the Restaurant has a Bar (IE:Chilies or Applebees) then, by law, you are to stay out of the Bar area. This means if you are eating (at a table) and you need to go to the restroom, you are to walk around the bar area and not through it (legally)..

Just a Bar?? Not OK to conceal carry.. Basically, IF you can smoke in the place that sells Booze, then you can't carry..

best bet is to have a small automatic that you put in your pants pocket.i carry a Kahr 6 shot 40 cal.no one will ever notice it.also if you are going to have a few beers, take the round out of the chamber along with the clip and put them in your other pocket.many states have a law against drinking and possion of a LOADED firearm.this way you dont have to worry about finding a place to store it.in conn it is a crime to be in possion of a loaded gun while intoxicated
