I do not if any of y'all have heard Toby Keith's "should have been a cowboy" but heres my point. After listening to it, how many of you like myself really think about being a cowboy??

Being a cowboy in the literal since isn't that glamorous. For get what you see on TV or the movies. It's a lot of hard work for little pay.

Yes that is the song.
I am aware that it's very hard work and very little pay. I respect the true cowboys believe me, but I was going along the lines of John Wayne or Clint Eastwood.

Interesting... My Grandfather said he should have been born in the early 1800's. Wish some of you (younger folks) could have seen what he could do with a black powder rifle. Let alone a pistol, M1 Garand or highpowered rifle. He was undoubtedly the best shooter I have ever seen. He wasn't bad at tossing a knife or hawk either. He taught me.
I thought I should have been born in the later 1800's. I have always loved 6 guns, although I have sold them all for 1911's. Who knows. Perhaps someday I will get into the cowboy competitions. It looks like a ton of fun.

My family still has a ranch with both cattle & horses. I grew up training horses to work cows.

There was a song by Conway Twitty back in the day that sums it up pretty well for me-

I don't need to listen to a song to want to be Clint Eastwood. Lol.
