For All You AK Owners....

Stirrer of the Pot
Apex Parts is offering surplus wood AK furniture from the Balkan (i.e.Yugoslavia) conflict of the 90s. 3 full sets (4 pieces each) for $35 bucks. I got mine this weekend and I'm thrilled with them. They're nicely banged-up, scratched, and dinged - very old-school. All of them have some sort of graffiti carved into them. The pistol grips are all bakelite. One of the buttstocks is rather unique - it appears to be an SKS stock that was cut and modified to fit an AK.

I love this kind of stuff. It was used by grunts in the field, although, being familiar with the Balkan war, it makes me shudder a bit to think of what this equipment might have been involved in.

This is a great deal. I think I'm going to dress up (down??) my MAK90 with one of the sets. Here's the link:

I know you meant well ... but I have friends that are from what used to be Yugoslavia, I'd never pick one up that was in that war.

I understand your position but remember the saying that goes "Guns don't kill people.....". That goes double for surplus wood furniture.

And I normally would agree with you there, very much so. But when I look at the pics and there's initials scratched into the wood you can't help but wonder if that was one of the guys who helped kill 3,000 unarmed civilians in the woods of Srebrenicza. And there's other stuff. It's just a bit too close.
