Folks, will you join me in turning them in?

Well folks, I can't believe I am saying this but I think it is time we turn them in. I know, there will be some on this site that will say I am selling out, but I feel we all need to do the right thing. In the name of safety, turn them in.

They kill more people each and every year and they know no age limit. They kill the young, middle aged and old. It is time we put an end to this senseless loss of life. We need to ask ourselves, do we really need them? Can't we get by with less dangerous versions of them? We don't need these death tools for our enjoyment, hobby, sport, etc.. We can get by with more common versions and other ways, eventhough the more common versions have the ability to kill just as well.

I for one know that eventhough I follow the rules, am licensed and received proper training, I probably can't be trusted. Only those who are professionals are really qualified to own them. Eventhough the amount of bad that's done with them compared to how many of them are out there is miniscule (no matter how sad it is when people are killed), for the greater good and our own protection, the time has come. Will you join me and make this world a safer place?

I pledge that any of these tools I currently own, and any I receive as gifts for the holidays I will promptly turn in. Please join me in turning in YOUR HIGH PERFORMANCE SPORTS CARS (I would if I actually owned one). Then we can focus our efforts on fixing the economy, solving the middle east, properly punishing those responsible for Fast and Furious and Benghazi, fighting terriorism, ending hunger and finding bigfoot. There, I feel better now.

I quite agree. I have a '69 RS Camaro that has a speedometer that reads to 120 MILES PER HOUR!

Nobody needs a car that can go that fast. We only need cars that can go the speed limit. The same goes for snowmobiles, jet skis, ATVs.

I wonder what the limit on toothbrushes is.

Actually, the death rate because of doctors is much higher than most other things. Therefore, we should ban doctors. I know that the one who treated my wife after our disabling accident nearly lost her. If it had not been for Igor Sikorsky and Michelangelo (helicopters) and the unknown heroes who invented seat belts and air bags, he would have lost her. So we need to either ban doctors or insist upon long years of training for them.

I just sold my Eclipse. Not out of safety concerns, but out of necessity (old age). Wife has a hard time getting in it, hip replacements become extremely sore after a half hour of sitting, and nearly impossible for her to get out of. Was becoming hard for me to exit also.
The sacrifices we make for the good of the public. Besides, the Chrysler 300C with the 6.1 Hemi is much more reasonable (looks like a family sedan).

Don't forget to have your bathtub taken out, & your pool filled in, ( 900 people die of drowning each year in this country because of them). Have your stairs walled off in your house, ( 1300 people die in stairway falls every year). And remember to remove your hot water heater, ( 55 people are scalded to death every year in our country.)
I feel better now, I think I've saved a lot of lives today.

I love my 1994 Miata, anybody tries to confiscate it gets a chance to confiscate my AK at the same time.

Maybe it's time for gun friendly lawyers to start flooding the courts with class action laws suits to ban that sale of a whole host of products that cause the death of far more people than guns.
  • Alcohol that leads to drunk driving deaths
  • All contact sports gear including football equipment
  • Playground equipment to prevent accidental death and injury to innocent children
  • Bathtubs and pools mentioned in previous post
  • Tobacco, good luck, states make a fortune on the high taxes
  • Pharmaceutical companies as virtually any drug can cause death if prescribed incorrectly or abused
  • All foods that can cause death from allergic reactions
  • Sharp kitchen knives (FYI some in England and China are already working on banning certain kitchen knives!)
[Edit] I forgot to add that the above "evils" are much more insidious as such rarely entail a large number of deaths at any instance and therefore do not get the same media attention; however, the total number of people killed and injured far surpass gun deaths.

As common sense people can see, the list is endless. Gun restriction is just an easy target that gets politicians more votes from the uninformed.

I'm turning-in my backscrubber. One shower I didn't look to see that I was actually scrubbing my back, and was actually scrubbing my front. Never got over that one.

I'm calling for a ban on vehicles larger that a mini cooper, high capacity vehicles are deadly in the hands of drunk drivers and everyone should be punished for it!While i'm at it i'm calling for all baseball teams to switch to wiffle ball so bats can be banned since they are used in more homicides than guns.

We need to pass a regulation that requires the vehicle manufacturer's to place governors on all new vehicles that limit the speed to a limit which Congress decides is safe. And phase governors being required on all existing vehicles. If you want a vehicle that goes over the Congress mandated limit, than you have to register it and pay the $200 tax stamp. But only those cars built before 2010 will be eligible to registered. That would fix the highway deaths every year, right?

We have to do this in an effective way. We can't just confiscate these cars. We need to first pressure the manufacturers into making all new cars impotent and worthless. Simultaneously we force current owners to put governors in their fast cars to keep them safe. They can all be checked at annual inspections and roadblocks to ensure compliance.

Once the ball is rolling a well thought out tax paid ad campaign can demonize these evil killing machines and change the public perception, much like the media has replaced the 80's beauty of big hair and toned ladies and replaced it with tattoos and muffintops.

Of course, the final nail in the coffin will be when all the neighbors are encouraged to "see something, say something" and nose around the neighbors barns for contraband like illegal Hot Rod magazines.

This whole campaign will be aided tremendously by the Christians who have been misled by their pastors to believe that they must help in this endeavor or be in danger of hell fire for not "obeying the law of the land".

Working together we can do this!

It is time to accept responsibility!

Don't give them anymore ideas! LOL

We joke about these now but in the Nanny State we are living in I bet we will see some of these "jokes" sent to Congress in our lifetimes.

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the law breaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is responsible for his actions....Ronald Reagan

That was DaVinci.

In the name of safety, I'm turning in my stairs, my sidewalk, and my ladders, because falls kill more people in this nation than almost anything else. My guns have never killed anyone, and aren't going to, unless my life is in danger. So go ahead, listen to the idiotic government that thinks it knows what it's talking about. And turn in what is your by right as an American.
