Florida Resident vs. Non-Resident CCW?

Anyone know the difference between these two? I assume that they CCW cards are the same but that in order to be considered Resident, you just need your Florida Drivers License?

I currently have my Florida Non-Resident CCW, and I just hope the are both the same card visually.

My concern is that South Carolina only recognizes the Resident Florida CCW, but not the Non-Resident Florida CCW, so If I am carrying in SC, then I would need my Florida Non-Resident CCW (since they are both the same really) and my Florida Drivers License?

Well you yourself say the difference. One is for a FL resident, the other for a resident of another state. If you have a FL drivers license are you a legal resident of FL? If so you should have obtained a resident FL CCW rather than non resident. I would believe a drivers license will not make up for having the wrong CCW.

Wow, that's never happened before...I called them and it went straight through to a rep...ok so I asked what makes the difference between the two types of CCW for Florida:

There is no difference visually, no new card needs to be mailed once I am a Florida resident. There are two things I must do in order to be good to go to make it a resident CCW:
1. Get Florida Drivers License with Florida address obviously.
2. Update the address on file with Florida Dept. of Agriculture using www.mylicensesite.com (which will redirect you to www.http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/ ) or by calling directly which is instant either way.

After that happens, I am good for carrying in South Carolina!!
