I'm surprised it took Florida that long considering they are a "shall issue" state. It took me 31 days in Massachusetts which is a "may issue" state. Congrats nonetheless!

Congratulations! How long was your coarse?

Did you do the mail in, or did you make an appointment with the DOA? Some of the people I have instructed say it's over two months to get an appointment here in Tampa.

As a fellow New Jersey resident welcome aboard and I have my Florida and Virgina. When I first got my Virgina it didn't gain me anything so I considered letting it lapse. Now that Wisconsin is aboard I believe they only accept Virginia non resident as far as non residents permits are concerned. They do accept resident permits but as you know ain't going to happen in New Jerkistan so, now I will be holding on to it. Again be safe and welcome

I did it by mail and i didn't take a course. I took the Utah CCW a few years ago when I got my Utac CCW, I asked Florida if they would accept it as training and they did. I just sent them copies of my Utah certificate and all the CCW permits I have from various states.

BTW, Virginia is very easy and can be done by mail and overlaps most states covered by Florida. If you have a CCW from another state they don't require training.

New Hampshire only took me 14 days.
