Florida application for concealed weapon

I need assistance on question 9 on the Florida application for concealed weapon on adjudication of guilt or imposition of sentence for misdemeanor crime of violence. In 1986 in NYS I was arrested for assault 3rd degree (misdemeanor) and criminal possession of weapon (misdemeanor).I had a knife in my pocket. The possession of criminal weapon was dismissed. The assault charge was reduced to a violation of harassment with a conditional discharge. Do I answer yes and send the certificate of disposition or do I answer no? Thanks for any assistance.

didn't that question also ask within the last 3 years?
i just applied in florida in beginning of may and i think it asked within the last 3 years were you charged.... ?

When in doubt, answer "YES" and submit your disposition paperwork. All that matters is that more than 3 years have passed since you were cleared.

Also, you will obtain better service and assistance if you go into your local Department of Agriculture Division of Licensing to submit your application. Office Regions - Division of Licensing, FDACS

thanks for the link thead now i'm wondering if sent mine to wpb rather than tallahassee would i got mine permit quicker being they may be less busy than tallahassee or do they ultimately have to go to tallahassee anyways before it's issued?

It will come up in your prints when they run them without question. Send them the disposition and be done with it.

When I went through the Department of Agriculture, I received my permit in around three weeks. Not sure how it was processed. I have heard that it is quicker when you physically go to your local Department of Agriculture office.

i just followed the ccwp class instructors direction but i used a check rather than money order so that what will delay it a bit

QUESTION 9
If you have been FOUND GUILTY OF, HAD ADJUDICATION OF GUILT WITHHELD FOR, OR HAD IMPOSITION OF
SENTENCE SUSPENDED FOR ONE OR MORE MISDEMEANOR CRIMES OF VIOLENCE, you are NOT ELIGIBLE for a
Florida concealed weapon license unless a period of three years has elapsed since probation or any other conditions set by
the court have been fulfilled (or the record has been sealed and expunged). If you answer YES to this question, you must
submit a copy of the document issued by the court or probation office evidencing completion of probation or other courtimposed
conditions. Alternatively, you can submit a copy of the court document ordering that the record be sealed and
expunged.

Answer yes and submit your certificate of disposition.
