Flag Etiquette

If this is in the wrong spot I apologize, I thought that the Vets out their may give me a better answer than anyone.

I bought a couple of flags for the motorcycle, a USMC flag and Old Glory. Now I know that the American flag should always be placed on its own right. So that would mean I put it on the right with the USMC on the left when facing forward. But the flags I bought don't mount straight up and down, they angle back a bit. So would that change which way they were "facing". I hope that makes sense. They are being mounted on the back rest.

The American flag can share a pole with another flag. The American flag just needs to be on top and larger than the flag below it. If you have two flags on two separate poles the American flag needs to be taller than the other(s).

Here is an authoritative source, addressing this issue:

So according to this source - if displayed by itself, it should be on "its own marching right" - that is, the rider's right hand side of the motorcycle. If displayed with a second flag, the second flag should be of equal height and size, with the American Flag again "on its own marching right." If displayed with two or more flags, the American flag should be center and elevated above the rest.
