My daughter is in the process of becomming an Independant Insurance Agenet. She's had her CCW permit for a number of years .. And during the process for her insurance and financial licenses that she just recently recieved from the State of Fla there was never anything brought up about a CCW permit..But a gal thats her trainer says the state will pull her CCW Permit .. Now I do understand if the companies she represents has policies on conceled weapons .. She will have to obide the those policies .. Or work for someone else ... But I can't find anywhere that it's stated that if you have Fla insurance or financial licenses, You cannot have a CCW permit..
If this is a fact .. I'd sure like to see where it's stated

what nonsense!
I have never heard anything so absurd!
do yourself a favor and never get your firearms law advice from friends, CCW instructors, cops, firemen they are almost always completely clueless and are usually just voicing an ill informed opinion.
the only ones you should get your legal advice from is an attorney who is very familiar with the law, the DOACS, or the AG's office.

I have been a Fl insurance agent and CCW holder for 18 years and represent 20 companies . I have never heard of this.

I am a licensed health, life, and annuities licensee in Florida since 2005, and FCWL holder since 2000, and I have NEVER heard any connection between one and the other. I work via telephone for out of state sales, in places like CA, MD, and DC, and I have heard nothing there either.

This is horse hockey and I echo apvbguy's words when he says don't get firearms advice from people who don't know any better.

However, I have one other question... if your daughter carries concealed, why is she bringing this up with her trainer?

Another point... I used to work as a financial rep in the insurance industry. I was licensed in annuities, securities, and insurance. Back then I didn't own firearms. I couldn't think of doing that job now, meeting people in neighborhoods I was unfamiliar with, carrying checks worth a lot of money and not be carrying.

I have to say it's complete horse manure too. I have been a licensed agent since 2007 and a ccw holder since 2002 and I have never been asked any questions from anyone and have been contracted or appointed with numerous companies. Personally I did home appointments for several years and since I was an independent agent with the companies I represent I carried most of the time I was out in the field and never saw anything in the contracts dealing with it.

The personal protection topic came up when they went to a seedy neighborhood to see a potential client .. The story of the gal getting her FL CWP pulled because she had a weapon registered and an Insurance license didn't make sense to my daughter because because she never seen any connection between the licenses on any application or anywhere in the license course .. Thats when she asked me over the weekend what I thought .. After doing some reading and asking .. I told her to go over anything she signed and see if there is any policies pertaining to weapons during your time as an agent .. I told my daughter to move away from the subject so not to offend her trainer and gather her own information from creditable sources
