FL reciprocity w/ IL

I'm just curious if anyone knows if FL will honor an IL CCW permit once they start issuing them. The training required for an IL CCW will be greater than the training required for a FL CCW. I ask because I am an IL resident and I plan on getting my IL CCW as soon as possible. I also planned on getting my FL CCW, but I don't want to spend another $140ish if I don't need it. I also have AZ and UT CCW permits so getting a FL permit will only give me FL as an additional state that my other permits don't already give me.

that is too hard to predict I would think that FLA would be open to reciprocation with IL, it is the politicians in IL who are the problem

Yes, IL politicians are a HUGE problem for the state right now. Hopefully the citizens if Illinois will wake up and vote them out of office!

However, I don't think our politicians would have any say in whether other states will recognize our CCW licenses. I think it is entirely up to each state whether they recognize another states CCW. For example MI law says that they will recognize any other states CCW as long as it is a resident permit and you currently reside in said state.

The State of Florida will honor the concealed weapon/firearm permits issued by another state PROVIDED THAT the other state will agree to honor the licenses issued by Florida. The states listed above are the only ones that have agreed to honor Florida permits.

There are a couple of important reasons why other states will not honor Florida concealed weapon licenses. Some states, like Connecticut, do not have statutory authority to establish reciprocal agreements with other states. Other states, like Minnesota, will not enter into a reciprocity agreement with another state unless the other state has concealed weapon licensing standards substantially similar to their own.

You summed it up. A lot of states won't honor a permit unless their's is honored. Give-and-take system. Illinois never gives and when they do it's only by court order and a few hours before their time expires. There are a few states that will probably honor IL CCW permits though. In my opinion with the amount of training required IL permits should be good everywhere. I'd be pissed if I went through all that as a IL resident and then couldn't carry in other states. I know Indiana, where I live, accepts anyones permit (except Vermont for some reason). I'd hate to see other states "punish" IL residents because the only take their state is willing to consider is the taking of basic and fundamental rights.
On a side note have you seen the list of places you can't carry in IL? It would have been easier to list the places you can carry.

The hard part is Chicago, if a politician can win Chicago they win the state. It's way too easy for Chicago liberals to win statewide office. The Southern Illinois counties have a hard time getting anything good through the Governor's office. Plus I think 4 of the past 5 Governors have been indited and several convicted. Such a corrupt state, I'm glad I moved out nearly 15 years ago.

like someone noted in another thread, states like IL where the political system has been subverted by being dominated by a huge urban center should adapt an electoral college like system for statewide elections, this would give the smaller populated places a stronger say in their governance and limit the cancer in our nation being caused by the libertards making good use of the ill educated ill informed useful idiots that dominate the population in cities like chicago.
