First time CCW suggestion?

Shoot like a Girl
I didn't realize there was a ladies and guns section so I'm reposting a variation of my original question from my original thread:

This question is for the ladies out there or anyone with a personal opinion....

I'm looking to purchase my first conceal and carry pistol, my husband suggests I carry either his Glock 9mm or a Taurus .38 neither or which I care to shoot (the taurus is way to snappy for my taste), I have shot and liked our Smith & Weston .45 but it's too big to carry concealed. I've recently looked at a Smith & Weston M&P, Springfield XD, and a Sig Sauer P290 but have not shot any of them. I am not a fan of "snappy" guns, have long fingers (so a slighly wider grip and/or magazine extension is prefered), and I have problems with long draws (must strenghten those trigger finger muscles). I am very firm on my stand that I will not buy or carry a CCW without having shot it first and I see no reason to change my stance on that and as I've said numerous times "I'm not going to carry a gun I hate shooting". Any suggestions on a gun to try?

Also, I have been considering how to carry and recently discovered the "flashbang" bra holster which looks interesting. Whats your favorite way to carry concealed?

Treo often offers a super soaker as you could ask him .... For people who don't want any kick lol

Why must you be such an idiot troll with comments like this.

And to Jessica, I suggest the S&W BodyGuard .380 very compact and accurate for ccw range. Not very snappy but very solid. It will have a little recoil as any gun will, but a very manageable one. Good luck on your shopping.

the ruger lc9 in the giveaway package might be a perfect carry gun
i don't know i never shot one yet
but i have a browning bda .380 it's hard to conceal but do able and not snappy and good on target too..i carry it 13+1 in chamber safety off and comfortable with it .....although i'm also looking into getting a more concealable gun
best wishes jessica
you tube has a lot of vids on different brand conceal carry guns and you can rent some at the range to see how they feel......let us know what you decide to get when you've made your mind up

She said she did not like "snappy" the LC-9, LCP, TCP, and S&W Sheild are snappy, about any lightweight gun is snappy, and the larger the caliber the worse it is, for a 380, the Bersa, or Walther would be a good choice, for a 9mm, check out a XD-9 or Glock 26, the small guns are great for concealment, and qaulity is decent, but they honestly hurt to shoot for long

Looked your carry gun up on YouTube .. Yes it's older And bigger but hey 14 rounds of .380 is great . Got a single action hammer . Looks well made might be heavy invest in a belt holster and I think you would be fine honestly

it can be single action or double .........it is a very well made and reliable gun. it fits well in the holster i borrowed and i'm wearing now as i type i have the belt on my bare skin as i'm wearing just boxer shorts and a skimpy shirt .....it's florida and hot as hell down here this time of year but the belt and holster are comfortable but it's hard to conceal in skimpy clothes which is what i wear mostly in south florida tropical climate.... but still looking for a more concealable something in the future......but in the meantime i'm working well with it.
my sons friend was just by the house an excellent gunner told me i'm doing exceptionally well being a newbie to shooting....we went around the house practicing clearing it as that is part of his job...he showed me some neat tactics and we discussed scenarios and stuff and he was surprised at what i already knew too he said some of his seasoned guys don't do as well.....we did the nickel thing see how well my steady was and he was surprised how well i done also being my gun not flat like his is on the slide mine has a quarter inch only flat then rounds out his glock is wide and flat slide and real easy to keep a nickle on. so step by step i'm moving along well with my learning and skill building
im going to a gun and knife show sunday and going to look for a good knife.......that way if someone is trying to get my gun i can slice their wrist with my knife ......we practiced taking each others gun it was fun...he has a level 3 holster so there is no way anyone gonna get it esp not me lolz but i know how to keep someone from getting mine....and i know now where the best place to cut on a wrist at my gun that will render a hand useless in a heartbeat....another day another learning experience and all is good
peace and practice

oh yea just boxin he really liked my browning too. he said it was alot like a baretta he had. i like the gun it's just not very concealable esp in hot humid temps

My wife is a new shooter (relatively) and she too prefers the push of the 45 verses the snap of the smaller 9's. She likes the small 1911s and the H&K USP compact 45. Neither of which would be very comfortable, due to weight, for bra carry. (Note: I am a man so take my opinion on bra carry with a grain of salt). I too prefer a good 45 and specifically a 1911. Have you tried the subcompact 3" versions? Some will say they are not reliable but I own two and have never had an issue (knock on wood). I will definitely keep my ear to the ground for options. Good luck.

M&P compact is not bad in a 40.Cant say you could carry in a bra. I let women shoot mine in class and most can handle it well. Same with my cz 75d compact in a 9.

Cut there dangelys off haha

Try a Glock 36 (.45) or a Walther PPS (9mm). Neither snap too much IMO. They both may be a little big for a flashbang though. How about an ankle holster? A little slower to get to I know, but an option. I agree 100% with your comments of you want to shoot it first to make sure you like it! Stick with that and you will be fine.
