First day with Lisence

Just got my conceal and carry today. I thank you for all the advanced information that this site has provided. It has definitely prepared me in all the right ways.
 
Hahaha. I was pretty grumpy today then I read Walmart walk. Thank you. That was funny.

Congratulations!!! Enjoy & have safe fun. I highly recommend practice, practice, practice. When at home just keep practicing taking it out of the holster (if you're using one), do this over & over. You want to be completely confidant with drawing that weapon safely and quickly. If you practice enough at home you will develop muscle memory for when you need to draw it under pressure. (hopefully never)

I think that we have all done the Wal Mart walk on our first day of concealed carrying...
Wal Mart is probably one of the safest stores in the country with so many folks doing the Wal Mart walk! :)

Well, good luck and carry responsibly. I'm on my 3rd renewal and can assure you the comfort level will increase with experience.
I spent a couple of hours today coaching another retired guy about the current concealed carry regulations. He has considerable experience with firearms but today was the first time he'd fired a centerfire handgun. Ten rounds gave him the confidence to begin looking for his own 9mm. Hopefully, we will get together another time so I can show him a variety of handguns and let him shoot those he likes.
 
Ah yes, "The Wally Walk". Nobody will notice. The only exception might be the person behind the counter in the sporting goods section.
 
If I remember correctly first time was a applebys then walmart, LOL, now the guys at the sporting goods counter ask how many I have today

Yea, that's what I would have thought also! But listening to the police scanner, there's more crime and police calls to our Wal-Mart parking lot than anywhere else in our local community.

BTW - congrats on your CCW.

How did you carry at Applebees? In our state of SC you can't carry in restaraunts that serve alcohol? I know you have to be in a different state.

I'm in Ohio, and you can legally carry into any establishment that serves alcohol as long as you are not drinking, not even a sip, and they do not have a "No Firearms" sign posted.
 
Our law won't let you carry into any establishment that sells alcohol regardless if the person is drinking or not.
 
SC Law

SECTION 16-23-465. Additional penalty for unlawfully carrying pistol or firearm onto premises of business selling alcoholic liquors, beers or wines for on-premises consumption.
 
In ky, you can't carry in a place, that does over 50% of it sales in alcohol. You can go to a restaurant just don't go into the bar area. Can't carry into bars etc....
