i'd like to buy guns for the purpose of selling them privately. could someone point out resources for assessing the legality of my hustle?

From the way you ask that question, I think advising you to contact the ATF and obtain an FFL would be your wisest course of action.

i donno i think it's a legit question being i may want to sell my gun someday or purchase one from a friend in the future...and should know if i can just sell it to joe blow down the street or have to get some legal paper saying i sold it to so and so on such and such a date.........

Did you purchase multiple guns for the express purpose of selling them privately? It seems not. Entirely different set of circumstances. The answer to your question is that in Florida you certainly can sell your gun or purchase one from a friend so long as you are both residents of the same state (Florida) and you have no reason to believe that Joe Blow down the street is prohibited from possessing firearms. No paperwork required.

Well, up until the word "hustle" I was willing to entertain the idea that this lad might have aspirations of becoming a legitimate arms dealer, so I was running with that idea. Many times when someone calls "troll" the OP comes back claiming his innocence, so I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Though, Mr. Ferndale, you should realize that no one on this site is going to support any hinky back-room dealings, so don't get all mad if you don't find the advice you're looking for.

at no point did i ask how to make an illegal firearm sale without getting caught. at no point did i ask you to tell me about the gray areas. i have eyes and can read for myself. i asked about where to find information about how to legally transfer a firearm. if nobody wants to help, fine. have fun with your circle jerk about what holster hides your manhood the most effectively.

i'd help if i knew the answers but i don't
i bought a gun years ago there was no paperwork involved and i've never sold one either i'm in florida where a poster said i didn't need any being the seller was from the same state........but i have no clue about michigan gun selling and buying laws
try googling it and finding out before you purchase and sell guns
best wishes ferndale

Sure. I'll answer your question.

If you don't have a Federal Firearms License and you buy guns for the purpose of selling them, then you commit a Federal Felony, violating 18 USC 923 (a) every time you buy or sell a gun. Simple enough. Now take your "hustle" to the ATF and get the license if you want to buy guns for the purpose of selling them.

Have you not been here long? Even I saw the troll remarks coming a mile away. You must learn to phrase your questions in a way so the troll police dont pounce on you. May I suggest calling someone a troll a few times. That way you might be accepted here and get your questions answered. Good luck

If you have eyes and can read I suggest you do your own research rather than expecting to get advice from someone on the internet. If you do so you will find the answer to your questions.
