Fingerprint legibility and ccw application

Hey guys, moved to Arizona recently and I took a class today in order to get my ccw (I know about constitutional carry I just want the perks of having a ccw permit). Fingerprinting was included in the class, and when the instructor went take mine, my hands were a little sweaty. He noticed that and didn't seem to think it was an issue, but on both the cards there's at least one print that doesn't have distinct lines (and a few are pretty terrible looking). My question is how legible do the prints have to be in order to be able to run them through FBI? From what I understand if both cards aren't legible they will do a name check instead, which takes 4-6 weeks - I'd rather not add that on to the already long wait I'll probably have until I get my permit. I haven't mailed my application yet, but I'm thinking of either calling the instructor to see if he'll redo my prints or eating $20 and getting them done somewhere else. The more I look at the print cards the more I think they're probably not gonna be legible. What do you guys think?

I teach AZ CCW here in CA., and AZ does not accept live Scan (they're still rolling them & no PD here does they only use live scan)) unless it can be copied onto the card. I would recommend finding a place that does live scan (My studnet' get them done @ local PD.) and make sure it can be copied onto the cards that came with yr app. Also make sure the place doing them wants the card filled out (some fill it out electronically). If you submit the cards and their not perfect the app will be denied. Great thing about Live Scan is they can do them as many times as it takes since nothing is going on the card manually (ink), and the machine will show which fingers are not gonna pass. It may take $20.00, but you'll save time and hassle waiting to possibly be denied and then have to pay to have them redone.

Thanks for the reply. Wish the instructor cared more about the prints being legible... they look pretty bad. Well there goes 20 bucks I guess

Arizona is still taking about 8 weeks due to the huge demand for non-resident permits they are receiving. They say they are getting 200-300 a week and it's caused a backlog in the system...just got mine at the end of May and it was submitted at the end of March. I had called them towards the end of May to verify they received it in the mail and that's what they told me....good thing to have though. I would get the instructor to redo the cards if they were included in the class.....you paid for good prints.
