Feds Responsible for Security

Doesn't it make sense that if the federal or state government is going to restrict my right carry in certain places, that they should also be responsible to provide security for me, and furthermore, if something were to happen to me, say I get shot by a lunatic (who brought in his gun spite of the feds), that they should be held liable?

Dont give them ideas. This sounds like a reason for a new "security" tax and a whole new division of the federal government, in addition to the multiple agencies they already have for law enforcing.

I've often wondered why someone hasn't sued the government entity responsible for these inane laws which preclude one from being able to protect themselves from the criminal element. Maybe they have and I just haven't heard about it. An example is the City of Denver... In a formerly open carry State, the City has been allowed to enact laws that will keep you from being able to protect yourself from thugs with guns that may want your belongings or your life. It seems like a good place for a trial run for a lawsuit. Just a thought...

Or how about just eliminating the nonsensical laws?

And just how often do laws get eliminated? There are still nonsensical laws on the books from a hundred years ago.

Here is a good example of nonsensical laws not being taken off the books. Last time I checked there was still a law on the books in my home town of Memphis stating that if you operated a motor vehicle after dark you had to have someone walk five feet ahead swinging a lantern. Just saying old laws never go away. They could conceivably be resurrected at any time. If was written its still there.

I'm sure that there is still a jail sentence for spitting on a Memphis sidewalk too lol.

The last time old laws came up in the papers, I read where a donkey could not stay in a hotel room above the 2nd floor unless there was a back door to ground level. Can't remember what city or state this was in. Gettin' old I guess!:haha:

Just the thought of HAVING to rely on either the federal or state government authorities for my personal protection in ANY scenario gives me the willies! No offenses meant but I can't see a state park ranger being in the right place at the right time to protect me from wild animals. I can't see the state police being in the right place at the right time to protect me from a crazed maniac on the highway. Heck I can't even rely on the local sheriff being in the right place at the right time to protect me from the guy robbing the convenience store I'm getting gas at.

I'll rely on myself. And good luck with the lawsuit against the government, although you'll probably get the money. After all it's just taxpayers dollars they'd be handing over.
