Federal Way woman calls 911 during own arrest

Federal Way Police are reviewing their use of force during a recent arrest in which a woman diagnosed with cognitive and hearing disabilities was punched several times , while being restrained. Police, in turn, are recommending the woman be charged with felony assault to an officer.

Megan Graham told her story to KIRO 7, her face still black and blue and swollen from the beating.

"I had a concussion. I still have a hard time understanding how things got so out of control, so fast," Graham said. "It was a total lack of communication."

Last Monday, Megan Graham parked her car at a Federal Way apartment complex, where she was planning to visit a friend. She said as she was getting out of her car, she noticed a Federal Way Police car behind her.

I gotta say this and I know I will probably be torn up for it but....is this guy a total *****? Come on all ready with the male cops beating on girls. If any of us punched a girl because she took a swing at us we would be in jail! I know they sometimes have a hard , deadly job but where is the common sense anymore. This was a stop for her using a cell phone? I know she could have been armed....but without knowing or for that matter suspecting wtf. I am so sick of these stories, before you guys go to nuts on me I am not arm chair quarterbacking, just going from the story given, he could have been a little guy. (He beats up girls so we know he is a wuss) but I have never and I know there are more than a few that could ruin my day, ever met a woman who was even the slightest bit able to kick my ass. Go ahead rip me if you want, but remember if you are one of those guys that think beating the **** out of a girl who is not wielding a weapon then IMO you fit the profile I am ranting about. If that is the case and you are a cop, please quit and do something else.

@zeebea; If it was 1958, I knew a girl back then that would kick your ass, and make you beg for mercy. The best looking and toughest girl in the school. Not even the big tough football players messed with her.

As for the Cops, there always has to be a couple of a**holes in every department. Sorry she encountered on of them here.

The cops need to be fired. The girl needs to be hired by the Police Department as a public affairs consultant, and put on at least a 5 figure retainer.

If she takes them to court and with a good lawyer, she may just own the PD!

Actually IA (Internal Affairs) investigates these manners which is supposed to "give an unbiased view) to the investigation, but no doubt Im sure some video will be pulled off the ROs vehicle, or at least I would hope. Doesnt matter how the woman responded, I wouldnt expect to see a female treated this way by 2 Police Officers.
