~The Dude Abides~
A father protecting his home and his 2-year-old son opened fire on a trio of suspected armed robbers in Virginia on Sunday killing two of them. The third man escaped and is still at large.
The local sheriff’s department in Prince Edward, VA, says it all unfolded around 4:30am when the three men busted down the door of the man’s home. The homeowner told authorities the men were armed and he exchanged fire with them, killing two of the suspects and sending a third running. A K-9 unit tracked that suspect, but his trail went cold and deputies believe he was picked up by a vehicle.

Good job imvho.

This story is BS, our beloved savior POTUS and our benevolent Democratic Government has already told us the only solution for saving ourselves is by calling 911! I was told that for every one police officer, who are endowed with supernatural powers, can personally protect 430 individuals within minutes! Five human beings instead of just 3 would have been alive cause one choose to act selfishly and who just had to be looking for blood because he owned a murderous mean spirited assault looking firearm!

But seriously. Why is it that when something positive happens it means nothing, but if its a tragedy occurs where evil triumphs its televised as if a natural disaster just occurred? Here and forums like it, we want to know that lives were saved when someone dared to say "No, you move" (even when the bad guys don't die!)

Sorry, but there is nothing to celebrate. We can be thankful the father was able to defend himself and his children, but it is not a cause for celebration.

I'll bet the father involved would say he wished the incident had never happened. His three young children were not only subjected to the horror of a home invasion but also the trauma of their father taking the lives of two people. Those kids don't understand the dynamics of such events, but they are deeply impacted by them.

No loving father would ever seek for his kids to go through such a thing. It couldn't be avoided in this case, and so the father has comfort in that he did what was necessary to protect his children, but he still has to watch them suffer as they work through the trauma in the coming months and perhaps years.

It doesn't end with the bang bang.

that's true but i bet it taught those kids a valuable lesson or two and hopefully they will grow up to realize that a good self defense weapon is a must for home and personal security .............glad he got the two he did

... We can be thankful the father was able to defend himself and his children, but it is not a cause for celebration.

I start and end my day with a short prayer hoping that I never have to use my "locked and loaded" pistol that I carry on me like its my wallet.

I train on how to handle firearms in order to defend my family, friends and even myself from those who would callously and willfully trespass against us.

I pay thousands of dollars attending classes so that my reactions to a threat are justifiable, not to meet your standards, but for mine.

I thank the Almighty Above, this father was able to save the life of his children and that he remains on this earth to continue raising them.

If you construe my words as being that of celebratory in nature, so be it. Thank God!
