This BS "tax goes toward those affected by gang violence" and by gang violence they mean the pricks actually shooting each other over a street corner. So basically they're telling law abiding citizens in Cook County (not everyone who lives in Cook also lives in Chicago, as we all know) to help Chicago gangbangers who get shot or stabbed in the course conducting run-of-the-mill gang operations like selling crack to school children or shooting each other for wearing the wrong colors on the wrong street, yes, brilliant, we must keep them alive because one of them might be a diamond in the rough. *VOMIT*

I agree people in that area are so use to getting from the government that they are blinded to what is really going on, that can be the only explanation. I was born and raised in Southern Illinois around guns. We always wanted to make Chicago and the surrounding suburbs their own state. No matter what we wanted they would shoot it down and ram what we did not want down out throat. Almost all money taxed in Illinois goes to Cook and the surrounding counties. Recently they tried to ban ALL guns in the city of Chicago. It got shot down which is surprising. It is only Chicago and the surrounding counties that are keeping Illinois to be a No-Carry state. But I read that some Dems are proposing to change that. They have a "Super Majority" in both houses. The Governor has promised to veto it so they could over ride his veto. Hopefully they will get it done. But since its Illinois I would not count on it.
