experimenting with ways to carry

being i like wearing elastic waisted skirts and shorts at times and not too keen on having to use a holstered fanny pack but will in some instances most likely.
however today i am experimenting with an iwb supertuck styled holster clipped to a gun belt.....buckled just around my bare body not anchored to the loops of pants....... but just the belt rigged with holster on the bare skin......and a pair of elastic waistbaned shorts over that keeping the rig at the level well lined up with the level where the shorts fit comfortably so all i need is still to lift the shirt and draw.....the shirt still conceals a over the top part of the rig where the gun butt sticks out of the holster..the waistband of the shorts covers the gun belt...it's a two handed draw though.....one to keep the belt from riding up on the draw the other to draw which is still easier than the two handed draw using a fanny pack as one hand pulls the zip cord while the other draws the gun..........
anyone else try that idea? and if so do you use it at times
i think it will work well for me
i'm sitting here now with it rigged that way and i think it will work well
and save me from lugging big fanny pack around my waist esp on these hot humid summer days and still be safe and concealable

I saw this video clip....she seems to have some good ideas that may help you.

If your thin enough u might look @ a thigh holster for an LCP or a super hot sweaty wide elastic band holster.

I have a Sneaky Pete Holster for my LCP. You carry it on your hip out in the open. I love it so much all I carry now is my LCP if I'm loopless I have a good stiff leather belt & it holds.

For at home walking around the house I have a regular elastic belt with a holster on it & carry outside my clothes.

I want an LC9 & a Sneaky Pete 4 it. But I don't NEED it so maybe i'll get one for Christmas. Would love to trade my Taurus PT145 Millennium Pro for an LC9.

CCW breakaways, are the way to go. Pockets are holsters, they are adjustable to fit any gun, and come in jeans, cargo , and khakis. Google them You have to get them from the website. They are terrific, the holsters are reinforced so you can carry a 1911 if you want to.

i really dont think those khakis were meant for a female figure. +1 for a belly band type holster, and you might also want to try a remora holster. i modified mine with a snap button and it doesnt move anywhere with jeans and no belt. im sure a similar rig to a skirt or shorts would work the same way.

yea i googled those from the giveaway package deal i like them and would love to have a pair of pants like that and a pair of shorts like that i'm a pocket person as i don't carry a purse if i can help it i usually just keep my wallet and keys and change on me and a small knife .......i am looking to get myself a nice tactical knife too someday but dang the prices of a good carry knife wow unbelievable what they cost !!!!!!! geesh but i might get me a nice one for christmas gift from me for me heheh
i been playing around with just wearing the gunbelt with the holster clipped to it on my bare skin today and it surprisingly works really well.........so i think i have my carry set up pretty much picked out for my needs.....
a good gun belt and crossbreed iwb supertuck or similar style holster ...that armadillo one someone posted here once was really sweet too........at 3...330ish can be used with or without beltlooped pants i can put the belt right on my body and a skirt or elastic shorts and i can even use the clips over the belt to tuck the waist of the skirt or shorts in as well and the draw is just as good oh happy day!!!!!!!!!!!! i think i've discovered my best carry way and options and either way the gun is secure easy to draw and the muzzle is in a good position at all times.......yep step by step it's moving along......i get to borrow this belt and holster till i get my own so that's great ....i'm holding out to purchase till the giveaway is given then if i don't win it i will purchase same or similar for my carry needs.....at least now i know what kind of gear and set up is my best fit........oh joyful day another dilemma out of the way.....and right in time as i expect my permit any day now probably early next week ;)

i have a boyish figure not big hipped or pear shaped like alot of ladies.....and when i do buy pants i usually get them in the mens department as they do fit me better without all the extra hip space womens pants tend to have
if i get a more compact pistol that might work but i still like the comfort and security of the iwb crossbreed style holster even still......the gun i have now is kinda big for conceal especially because it's a stacked mag holds 13 which makes the gun butt a bit wide for a covert conceal but the supertuck helps and positioned at 3..330 ish helps conceal it best ..when i bought the gun years ago my intention was just home defense as i never thought about conceal carrying it at the time......but i think i can make what i have thus far work till i get a better more concealable system going on ......yup a good day for me getting my carry options sorted out that's what it's all about
mission accomplished lolz

i don't want my gun in my underwear lolz but i'll give it another look ...wow i like this tactical duty kilt!!!!!!!

Link Removed now that is something i like lolz i have a male friend who wears something like it at times to our drum circles i'm going to ask him about it next time i see him....as i'm not used to seeing many men in skirts like that lolz he's married and straight too just in case youse was a wondering rotflmbo

I just ordered the fusion pack. Check it out . It seems to be what your talking about.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJIZWsMW5ZI&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I'm a male, but a female friend has the same issue. I just recently saw a neoprene 'tummy slimmer' belt at TJ Maxx. It's the really wide one that has an ice pack with it. I'm looking at one myself.
I tried the compression shorts holster and there were 2 problems:
1: The grip of the gun was well below the waistband, therefore I could not get the grip I need.
2: The weight of the gun dragged the shorts down even lower inside my pants.
I tried the t-shirt kind, but the weight of the gun caused it to fall out when I bent over to tie my shoes or pick up something... The nylon stitching was very itchy.
I'm going to try having my tailor stitch a neoprene "holster" on the tummy slimmer belt to create a really wide belly band holster- with the gun in a butt-forward angle to keep the grip from printing behind my hips. I like the wide belt to distribute the weight of the gun better. The sticky neoprene will help keep the belt from sliding down/around, and also to keep sweat away from the gun.
It's just an idea.......

thanks for your input.....i've been checking out many styles and types of holsters and thus far think a good belt and crossbreed style is best .......
i can also wear the gun belt on my naked body and clip the crossbreed style to it and with elastic banded clothes also use the holster clips to clip the waistband too so i get a good clean draw which works similar to that fusion pack idea ....i'm just not keen on velcro as a belt is easier to clean......and if i have belt looped pants i can use it the regular way .......
so if i don't win the giveaway i'm going to buy myself a good gun belt and crossbreed i've decided will be my carry method .......right not i'm borrowing a similar rig and it seems to be working well i've tried with it on looped shorts and pants as well under my clothes that don't have belt loops and it seems snug and secure and same to draw.......i posted that thread probably before i actually tried anyting out yet i think but at this time i'm comfortable with my decision and most likely going to order and purchase my own rig next month.......i've decided to go with a good belt and crossbreed or similar style i've checked with armadillo as i really liked the leather work on them but they said they don't have the mold for my gun.....so i may go with crossbreed which does have the mold for my gun so next month one way or the other i'm going to have my own rig!
oh joyful day that will be having my own stuff
best to all
